Curly Jean Meets Washi Tape!

It's MarkerPop I'm posting for today and it's 3D Thursday! I decided to go for a tin today....and some Sherri Baldy My-Besties....and some Washi Tape!

The tin I started out with was some packaging I saved in my stash. All silver which just wouldn't do!!

I went with some of the wide washi tape, which I wrapped around the outside and inside of the tin. I lined the bottom of the tin with some fun corrugated cardboard.

I fussy cut my Curly Jean image and popped her up on some foam tape.

I paired my tape and image up with the Simple Stories Documented collection. I'm happy that I saved this tin....it's got new life and is perfect to tuck some little memories in!

Father's Day Cattails!

Here is a card perfect for Father's Day!

I used the following images from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps:
HH0008 Cattails, FF0114 How Tall, GG0003 Harlequin Cube

I used papers from My Mind's Eye's Indie Chic Citron collection.  I added some beading with embroidery floss.  The beads were from a little bag that came with some clothes....I wonder who actually fixes their beadwork?!  It sure is a fun little bag to craft with! LOL!

I used the HH0002 Stately Zebra image and colored it with Copic Markers:  E43, E42, E41, R20, W5, W3, W1.  Papers are from My Mind's Eye's Indie Chick Citron collection.  I cut out a few of the leaves on the designer paper and accent them with Copic Markers.

Fred She Said Card Duo~

Happy Friday!  I found some cards in my computer that never got posted using Fred She Said Designs...so here goes!

This first image is a pre-colored image called Old Truck.  The sentiment is from another the Calla Lilies set.   Papers are from a My Mind's Eye collection.
Here is a cute one using the set Kiss Me Scottie!  It is also a pre-colored image that I paired up with a fun BasicGrey collection.

Big Buck!

Happy Thursday! Here is the next animal on my paper safari; KK0024 Buck!  This image from Prickley Pear is a great one for the fellas!  I paired it up with the BB0001 Belated Birthday image.

I colored the buck with Copic Markers and then applied some blending solution to the image with a terrycloth rag for the appearance of deerhide!

Papers from BasicGrey's Archaic collection and Candi Dots finish my card.  Be sure to stop by the Prickley Pear blog to see who won the CheeryLynn/Prickley Pear event prizes and for more inspiration!

Girly Graduation!

Well...I thought I had posted this cutie already, but it seems I did not!  It's graduation season...and this year I had a few girls to make cards for!  I decided to go girly and pink/black for my cards!

The adorable Glad Grad image is from Draw Me A Daydream at McMahon Five Designs, and is colored up with Copic Markers.  For the hat, I simply used dots of ink from various colors to form my *patterned* hat!  I fussy cut the image and popped it up on foam tape for some dimension.

Papers are from Teresa Collins Journal It pack.  I used different bits and pieces to fit my fun pocket card.
The front panel is simply border punched and folded over, and I added Scor-Tape around the edges to make my pocket on the black panel.  I dressed up a few file tags wrote my message on the pink one and tucked a money pocket on the back side

Be sure to pop by the McMahon Five Designs Blog each week to see the newly released images or the flashback images!  Lots of inspiration each week!  Enjoy!

Marker Pop Tuesday Tip - Choosing Color Schemes

mp 6.4.13.3
Hello! Michelle popping in again with a Tuesday Tip for MarkerPop..and this week I'm sharing how I pick my color schemes for my cards.
 mp 6.4.13.1

I start by selecting a piece of patterned paper that catches my eye. It may not even be a piece that I end up using on my end project. In this case I selected one sheet of paper from a 6x6 pad and based by color scheme from it. You can see I was testing markers as I went...some Copics I know well enough that I don't have to color test, and others I just grab a handful that I think might work and match up my paper to my tests and go from there.
 mp 6.4.13.2
In this case, these were the ones I went with with the exception of the orange/papaya color which I took from an old alcohol marker collection I had.

Also..be sure to shop your stamp collection for sentiments! My main image and my sentiment are from two different companies, but it stretches your card making varieties if you mix and match!

The Cheery Lynn Dies I am using is B305 Gauze Border, B292 Fanciful Flourish, FRM115 Latice 2.
