Shady Tree Studion Release for Inky Antics!

Here is another batch of cards I made up for the Create-N-Connect Trade Show for Inky Antics and Jackie's introduction of them!  Enjoy!
****************************************************************************

Since its inception, Inky Antics has been known for our whimsical stamps...and we'll always continue to create new, cute designs.

But sometimes it's good to expand one's horizons, too, and we've been thrilled to bring you beautifully elegant images from Shady Tree Studio!

For this release, Nancy Baier has been busy drawing for months. We're proud to unveil three completely different collections, which span the seasons and offer eclectic styles.

The first theme is called Comforts of Home, which evoke memories of peaceful times, such as this tranquil scene from 11178MC Home Sweet Home Clear Set.

Step off the porch and into the countryside with 11173MC At The Stable Clear Set:

I love this peekaboo panel that Michelle Pearson added to this sample card:

You've probably already noticed 11176MC Forest Critters Clear Set in our Idea Showcase:

Same with this gorgeous butterfly card using 11174MC Butterflies & Garden Clear Set:

Hattie Lace Release ~ Inky Antics!

Here are some of the cards I made for Inky Antics...Jackie posted this yesterday...and since she has all the details, I've copied her post for you here!  ~Enjoy!

*******************************************************************************
As you may know, the Create-N-Connect trade show was held last week. This is a retailer event where the newest products are presented to store owners. Now we'd like to show them to YOU!

Every day this week through Thursday, August 1st, we'll take a peek inside our Fall/Winter '13 catalog. That's when our entire release will be added to the main Inky website.

Let's start with an Inky classic, the Hattie Lace collection. Previously these designs were only offered as wood mounts, but now we're delighted to provide them in the clear set version as well.

Actually, you might have already spotted a couple of them because I just couldn't wait! This card was posted in the Idea Showcase earlier this month.  It features 11180MC Alice's Afternoon Clear Set, which I also blogged about in a "Try It Different" Tuesday segment that included this card:

Due to seasonality and space constraints, there are some new clear sets that were not included in the flyer, but they will be available starting on Thursday. This fun little guy is part of 11182MC Boating Buddies Clear Set:

Yep, it's a flip-flop or swing card, with Innertube Piggy (0561E in wood mounted) and Water You Been (0569D in wood mounted) on the front:

When you pull the card open, our Catching The Rays bunny (0575E in wood mounted) and Lazy Days saying (0649G in wood mounted) appear on the other side:

The same 11182MC Boating Buddies Clear Set also includes this adorable stamp image, showing Alice rowing with her happy passenger friends:

And here's one for the boys, who have not been forgotten in 11183MC Boys' Adventures Clear Set:

James (0666K in wood mounted) and his faithful canine pal are stopping by to say hello (0618F Drop A Line in wood mounted).

Thanks to Michelle Pearson for creating these fantastic samples. We've got a TON more to show you, so please return tomorrow for another exciting reveal!

More Cards with My Inky Antics Fabulous Flowers and Simple Sentiments Sets!

Hello there!  I've been quiet a bit...summer with older kids is keeping me busy...but I think the bulk of the running is over now....so I've been busy cleaning up my crafty area and moving from an old laptop to a new one....and finding photos I've never blogged!

These four cards are for Inky Antics and feature the sets I designed for them; 11104MC Simple Sentiments and 11102 Fabulous Flowers.

This first card features a 3D card that has fabulous WOW factor.  It is not one that you would mail in an envelope, but a little clear box would be a beautiful presentation...then they can WOW before they ever open it!  OR...make two flowers and attach them back to back for a fun 3D flower display!!

This card also features a border from my 11103 Beautiful Borders HoneyPOP set.

This card features another more dimensional carnation sort of flower.  A clear box would be perfect for mailing this one as well, though a simple fluff with the fingers would pretty this one up if mailed in a regular envelope.

I hope you have enjoyed a walk through my paper garden....I will have a whole bouquet for you tomorrow!

Happy Weekend To You! ~

Markerpop Hair Challenge!

Hello and welcome to MarkerPop Monday!  Today's challenge on the MarkerPop blog is all about coloring hair!  I used this bundle of Copic Markers on each card in addition to the hair variations shown below.

I decided to color one image four ways...so we have a brunette, a redhead, a blonde and a black haired beauty!
Each of these cards use papers from My Mind's Eye's Blue Bell and Sweetest Thing Tangerine collections.  Dies are by Cheery Lynn Designs

A bit of doodling in white gel pen above and black pen below add a touch of interest.

I love the way each personality pops out with the hair and papers chosen for each card!

How Lucky I Am...

I haven't cracked into my Stampin Up! collection for a while....and I grabbed a new set for the images and found a sentiment in there that I really love!  It's never fun making sympathy cards...but we all have those times that pop up on us when we need one.  I have been lucky to know some very special people....and this sentiment worked perfect for need I had to make some sympathy cards.

I colored the images from the Summer Solstice set with Copic Markers:  R29, R24, R22, R21, V01, W5, YR15, YG17, YG25, B66, B63.  I fussy cut the images and popped them up with foam tape for added dimension.

The dies are by Cheery Lynn, the flower centers are embellished with Spiced Marmalade Distress Stickles and I've added a few Candi Dot embellishments.  The designer paper came from my stash.

Monochromatic with a POP of Color!

mp 7.16.13
For today's card for Markerpop I'm exploring another way to choose your Copic Colors!

Instead of matching my colors to the colors in my designer paper...I simply chose a paper I liked from My Mind's Eye's BlueBell collection and went with a monochromatic color scheme for my Magnolia Bouquets with Love image. This allows me to pick a few colors I like to add a color POP.

Another quick tip....it seems to me that cards look more formal and less like a notecard when you orientate them vertically vs horizontally!

Copic Markers: BG75, BG73, BG70, YG17, YG25, R85, R83, R81, R29, YR07, YR15, YR16.
Die is by Cheery Lynn Designs.

...And The Eagle is Still Flying....

Happy Weekend!  I have another eagle card for you today using Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and the Embossed Vellum technique.  This guy was stamped with Stazon ink onto some peachy vellum and then embossed on the opposite side with a stylus on a foam mat.  The beak was colored on the opposite side of the paper as well.    Designer papers are from BasicGrey's Clippings collection.

Stamps: FF0020 Eagle, CC0048 Star and Swirl, AA0005 Sm. Star

Couture Creations Embossing Folders Focus

Today I'm playing with Couture Creations' embossing folders available at CropStop!
This folder is called Happiness.  For this card, I embossed the cardstock and then hit the embossing with a bit of Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I dressed it up with some bits and pieces from my gem drawer for some sparkle and shine!

And....here is a card inking the reverse side of the embossing for a different fun look!

My next card is a stunner in person!  The embossing folder is called Christmas Light.  I embossed it on a sheet of glittered cardstock.  The embossing is crisp and clean and the sparkle is crazy fun!  Again, I added a few gem pieces and a bit of May Arts Lace.  Matting on navy cardstock really makes the whites pop!

My final card features the Merry Christmas HoHoHo embossing folder.  For this card I simply embossed some patterned paper.  I sanded the embossing and then cut out and embellished a few of the snowflakes from the paper with a silver paint pen and a touch of Candi!

And The Eagle Flies....

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  We enjoyed another four day weekend a mere 3 days after returning from vacation!  We got lots of things caught up at home...and enjoyed a really quiet Sunday!

Today's card is for Prickley Pear and continues my paper safari....today we have the FF0020 Eagle!  I decided to do him up with a technique that I haven't done on my blog for a while....Vellum Embossing!

I stamped the image with Stazon on some vellum that has a slight *cloudy* pattern.
I flipped the image over on a foam pad and using an embossing stylus, rubbed the back of the vellum, gently pressing. The heat turns the vellum white and streatches the fibers of the vellum so you get a raised embossed effect.  Make sure that as you do this you are following the natural lines of the image....because you will see the lines.  You want them to look like feathers in this case!!
Finally I colored the back-side of the vellum with a Copic Marker to add the beak color.  You do not emboss this portion.
Attach glue dots behind inked areas on the eagle.

Papers are by My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the  CC0048 Star and Swirl twice to frame my image.

Be sure to stop by the Prickley Pear blog to see what the other girls have been up to!

Where In The World Have I Been?!

mp2
We've just returned from vacation, and asked last week on the MarkerPop blog, Where in the world am I?! photo (2)
Where we ate lunch one day...
 photo
Figured it out yet?!
 photo (3)
 This might help you out!!

v1
Here is where I was on my birthday!
 v2
We headed down to the Tennessee Smoky Mountains, where we stayed in a cabin high up on the side of a mountain!  We checked out Cades Cove and the Roaring Forks Auto Tour which showed our kids the lowly cabins and hard lives the mountain folk had hundreds of years ago. We visited a Ripleys Aquarium in Gatlinburg TN which was really fun!
 v3

Then, on my birthday, we took a drive to Ashville, NC where we toured the Biltmore House and Gardens. It is hard to believe that this house was built during the same time period! No photos allowed inside, but we toured 40+ rooms....and there were far more!

v4
The flowers are so beautiful...I totally enjoyed the brief rainshower that freshened everything up and cleared out the gardens! ;) So, THAT was where I was! Came home sick and still am... Urg!
mp 7.5.13
I made a little belly band for a clear box that would be perfect to tuck a gift card into... I also decorated a paper clip that could be tucked in there, to be used as a bookmark or some such thing! I used the Avery Elle Petals and Stems set and the coordinating dies. I used some Colorbox Chalk Inks to color my images.
