Raking Leaves Birdbrains!

It's a From The Heart Stamps image called Raking Leaves Birdbrain for this week's Sketch040 Challenge!   Here is the sketch:

I stuck pretty close to true on the sketch.  I flipped the flags down to the bottom because I had a slight boo-boo with my Scor-Bug and then when I decided on my banners to cover it up, they would have been upside down up there, so down they came!

Copic markers:  E59, E57, E55, E53, YR27, YR09, YR04, YG95, YG93, B99, B23, W5, R29.

I used paper embroidery for a pop of color and interest on my card, a few Candi dots and scrap of orange corrugated cardboard for my banner.

Thanks for stopping by!  We hope you have time to play along with our challenge!  Stop by and check out all of the other inspiration on the FTHS blog!

Lotsa Suzies!

Today's card is a cheery one using images from Prickley Pear!   I'm bucking the system here....these must be the last flowers of the season...but I am sneaking them in on my blog before the snow falls!

GG0031 Black Eye Susans, CLR023 Mini Butterflies 2 Clear Set,  D023 Mini Butterfly Die.

GG0031 Black Eye Susans was stamped three times and then colored in various Copic Marker combinations:  Y38, Y35, BG11, G43, B24, B21, R83, R81.  I fussy cut them all...just because I'm kinda nuts!  The flowers are popped up with foam tape, the stems are attached to the card with glue dots.

The saying I think has been retired, but you could use it for birthdays or thinking of you cards any time.

Things Are Bad...Send Chocolate!

Today's card features Stamp Shoppe Creations images Swirl and Gerber Daisy.  I colored the images with Copic Markers:  YG17, YG25, RV66, RV55, RV52 before fussy cutting them out.

The die is by Cheery Lynn Designs, designer paper is from Crate Paper's Acorn Avenue collection.
The corners and card base are actually Chocolate Truffle, though they appear black here on my screen.  Not sure who made that sentiment...I found if floating around here in my stash, but I love it!

Chicken Noodle Soup!

It's soup season here at our house...tonight there were no less than three different types of soup in my frigdge...tomato soup, pea soup and a southwestern chicken soup!  I love soup...and thus with the coming of the cooler temps and dark evenings....there also comes warm pots of soup of every flavor!

I love this image that Faith drew for her Whipper Snapper Designs line, it is called Chicken Soup!

I colored the image with Copic markers and then cut it out with the Outside the Box Technique which simply involves cutting away the cardstock around part of the image.  This reduces the white space and adds a fun touch of interest to the card.

I also added some paper embroidery and distressing.  No sentiment on this one yet, until I decide what I want to use it for.  It would make a great Get Well card!

Shaded Paper Piecing...

Hello!  Michelle here today with a Tuesday Tip for MarkerPop!  I can't get enough of La La Land Crafts' image Christmas Lantern Marci.  I decided to paper piece her today with papers from Authentique's Journey Collection.

My tips...

1. Don't forget to add a touch of Copic Marker shading to her hat and coat.  I used W1 and W3 to add a bit of dimension to her clothes!

2. Add some Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Gel Paint to add dimension to the lantern!

Copic Markers used:  B04, B01, W7, W5, W3, W1, E35, YR24, Y21.

Winter Wolf!

It's been a bit since I've posted an installment of my Prickley Pear paper safari, and it has headed north to Alaska!

GG0010 Wolf is colored up with Copic Markers:  W7, W5, W3, E43, E42.  I made the fur effect with some Copic Colorless Blender Solution on a piece of terry cloth.  Love this technique on animals!

I used a sentiment from the CLR013 Spring Scalloped Circles set and popped into the center of the D038 Snowflake Pendant Die.

Papers are from Authentique's Journey Bundle Collection.

If The Punkin Fits....

Today's card features a set from McMahon Five Designs' line, Draw Me A Daydream, called Punkin!
My brother should probably fire his secretary/set designer....but he hasn't, and I'm finally back with a cute little for Halloween!  We have some fun images coming up for fall...and I will have lots in store for next summer!

The first card features the pre-colored image that is included in the set....and don't you just love that funny little saying with the image?!  It definitely fits the image!

I love the saying on this one too!  I used a sketched version of the image which I colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

The set has two images and four sentiments in both PNG and JPG formats.

Be sure to stop by the McMahon Five Designs blog to see all of the other fun autumn sets being released today!

More n More Washi Tape!!

Today's project is for MarkerPop using a Gorjuss set called You Brought Me Love.  It is 3D Thursday...so today we are altering these little bottles that once housed the sprinkles for cupcakes and cookies!
...and what better to dress them up with than.....STAMPED WASHI TAPE!!!  I picked colors of tape that  matched the buttons that will now live in them!    I added a stamped ladybug that has been layered on circle punches and colored to match the buttons as well for the lid covers since the silly things were all pink!
Here you can see some more stamped washi...behind my heart stamp and just simply to embellish my card!
And here is a peek at Miss Gorjuss herself!  She is colored using Copic Markers:  W7, W5, W3, W1, R29, RV55, RV52, YG07, YG05, Y17, Y15, E02, E00, B04, B01.

Couture Creations Autumn Flowers

I have an autumnal card for you today for CropStop featuring products from Couture Creations!

The flower dies are from the Endless Dream Collection and are called Tip Toe and Fresh Flower.
After cutting out the flowers from cream cardstock, I applied Peeled Paint and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks.
It is simple to then pop out the die cut pieces and you have some fabulous flowers.
I layered them on the center of a Fleur-De Frame die that I cut from Cor'dinations cardstock and then sanded.

My only embellishments are May Arts SM-10 twine and Couture Creations' Pearls.

Inverted Reversed Tea Bag Folding!

I have a technique for you today that I have never seen or heard of....an Inverted Reversed Tea Bag fold!

I started out with a simple Kite Fold...then I tucked the tip down inside of the back flaps...and thus the Inverted Reversed Tea Bag medallion was born!  It turned out pretty fun with lots of additional texture as I did not tape or glue the flaps down.

I added a flatback button as my medallion center and layered my image on some embossed white cardstock for high contrast!

Stamp was punched from All Night Media's 580J02 image by Anna Griffin.

Owl and the Pussycat

Hello there!  Today's card for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps features the new GG0170 Owl and the Pussycat image, the new D039 Spiderweb Gate Die and an oldie but goodie image called BB0052 Henry!

I did the Owl and the Pussycat image up with Stazon on acetate.  Then I glittered the back with Art Institute Glitters:  154 Twig, 91 Orange Crush, 208 Fauna, 200 Fog.  I then layered the image over a piece of painted cardstock for a sunset effect.

I cut the awesome Spiderweb gate die on this one and just used a touch of the spiderweb for my upper left hand corner embellishment...a perfect home for darling little Henry!

Humble Anneke Fall....

Today's little lady is Humble Anneke by From The Heart Stamps!  I decided to go with an autumn color palette and paired her up with some dies from Cheery Lynn, stickers from Stampendous and Candi Dots!  She is a hoot too color and I just love how changing the hair and color scheme of the clothes changes their personalities!

Autumn Clunker!

I had this Old Truck on my brain from Fred She Said Digital Designs...and I just thought it needed to be orange!

The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils/Gamsol and is distressed with Frayed burlap Distress Ink.  The papers come from Simple Stories' Take A Hike Collection and the only embellishment is a few Candi Dots.

Trick Or Treat...by Lawn Fawn!

Hello! It's Michelle again....and today I'm sharing a fun card using Lawn Fawn's set Trick or Treat!

I paired up the sweet little images with Simple Stories' collection; Take a Hike.   Remember to look at just the color scheme of your various paper collections sometimes...this set is not a Halloween paper collection, but it sure looks like it from the papers I chose!
I paper pieced the candy corn with coordinating patterns in the set. I colored the bat with Copic Markers W7 and W5.

My tip for today....let the paper speak to you! I saw the dots and used them as a guide to add a fun touch of paper embroidery to this card. It's a quick easy and inexpensive way to add a lot of pop to a card!

Spiderweb Gate

Today I'm featuring the new D039 Spiderweb Gate Die for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!  I just love this funky die!

I used it in several ways on this card.  First of all I cut two images and then used the reverse side so I had a complete gate.  Next I cut off one of the bats so that they didn't overlap on my gate.  I then cut an extra bat so I could use them as photo corner elements on my card!    On another card I cut off the swirls on the top of the gate...and I can see cutting the gate pieces off if you were just wanting a bit of a spiderweb!  Soooo cool!

I used the EE1061 Brewing Up A Batch 2 sentiment to *latch* my gate.

Textured Background Brew Card Duo and Tutorial

Today's cards for Prickley Pear feature new stamps and dies and a fun Textured Background Technique!

GG0170 Owl and The Pussycat was colored with Copic Markers.  The *wrought iron* embellishment is actually the new D038 Snowflake Pendant Die which I cut in half.

The background was created by using Chicken Feed Acrylic Paint on regular white cardstock.  I covered the panel using horizontal swipes, leaving the paint thicker in areas and leaving other areas white.

When the paint was dry, I then added some Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Gel Paint in Frost.  Again, I covered the panel in a horizontal direction.  I left thicker areas an others that were smooth until I had the desired effect.

Once dry I attached the panel to my cardstock and then covered the long edges with Washi Tape.

I stamped EE0161 Brewing Up A Batch 2 on a piece of painted cardstock with Stazon and then covered the stamping with the Dimensional Gel Paint.

On this card I did the same process, but the purple and green circles were done with Ranger Distress Stains ( peeled paing and dusty concord) rather than the acrylic paint.  I stamped the images on top of the dimensional gel paint which I applied smoothly to these panels.

Papers by My Mind's Eye' Lost And Found Two Rosy collection.

This is a great way to add a bit of interest to a card without adding fussiness!  Give it a try!

Cuppy Cake Goodness!

We're re-visiting CUPCAKES for my getting to know the design team post for MarkerPop

I made these particular cupcakes in the last several years....my daughter has moved on to brownies for her birthday dessert of choice...and my son to cheesecake...so I don't get the fun much frosting fun anymore!!

I have a little frosted goodness to share today, two different sets of cupcakes I made, one set for my son and the other for my daughter!

We made these simple Halloween cupcakes with Wilton picks and wraps. It made it easy for my son to help out! We made gooky green buttercream frosting using green and yellow food coloring. Don't be surprised if you see a fence on a future card...the extra cupcake wrappers just might end up as a mask or some such thing....garbage, I think not!!! Close up of cupcake below! And....if Halloween isn't your thing...here is another batch I did up for my daughter's birthday, and they are totally girly!! I used a Butterfly Die for the pattern for the butterflies on my daughter's birthday cupcakes!!  Yes, those butterflies are edible...the things you don't do for your kids!  This is not my original idea....found it here... I was surprised that my results turned out as well as they did...I'm no cake maker....I prefer paper!! My daughter was thrilled with the results and all afternoon she thanked me for making her pretty cupcakes for her birthday!! The fact she thinks they are pretty is all I need!!

Autumn Flower Jar

It always amazes me how the leaves start to turn so very quickly!  It went from looking like summer to autumn on our street in a few short days!  Some of the early trees are snowing leaves today....and some have not even begun to turn.

It's been a bit since I've had cards for From The Heart Stamps...but I have a pile of them waiting in the wings!  This one today is just the beginning....come on back tomorrow for our Blog Hop to welcome our new design team members!

Today's card uses the Autumn Flower Jar image...and I just kept it really clean and simple.  Cardstocks are Always Artichoke, Chocolate Truffle and Crumb Cake.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder that I distressed lightly with Tea Dye distress ink...and my only other embellishment is Candi Dots.

Copic Markers used:  E29, E37, E35, T4, YR27, YR15, YG97, YG95, YR24, Y32
