It is rrreeeaaallllllyyyyyy cold here in Wisconsin....but I decided to make a few lighthouse cards today featuring the Lighthouse image from From The Heart Stamps!
I colored both images with Copic Markers:  BG75, BG72, BG10, BG0000, YG93, E79, E43, W7, W5, W3, W0.  Papers are from Prima's Moulin Rouge collection.  The second card has some metallic corrugated cardboard and some May Arts twine.

Thank you all for your support this year...those who left comments along the way, I appreciate the time you took to pop in and leave a note!  I wish you the very best in 2014, and I'm thinking we'll kick the year off with some blog candy, so keep your eye peeled for the details on that!

Happy Holiday's Wreath

Ooooh, this was a fun card to make using a pile of Prickley Pear dies and stamps!

I used a Cheery Lynn die for my wreath base and just did it in a neutral brown color.  I used the new D040 Pine Branch Die which I used on a piece of designer paper.  I layered several up until I had a wreath effect.

Flowers are from the CLR031A Poinsettia 2 Holiday Stamp Set and D031 Poinsettia Leaf die. I cut the images from some blue designer paper and then stamped the poinsettias on them with a coordinating ink.  The hearts are actually some waste pieces from another Cheery Lynn die...they made fun contrasting flower centers!

I added a twine bow for a rustic touch!

Starring Frosty!

Well...there was one more adorable snowman from Fred, She Said Designs on my desk....and if you follow my blog, you know how I am....I get on a roll...and then you get lots of cards using the same/similar images until that little stash is used up!  I figure you can't go wrong with too many winter cards...and these are not with a Christmas bent, so they are perfect for any occasion when you just want to pop in and say Hi!

The adorable snowman comes from the Hat Tippin Snowman set.  This time I distressed the edges of the circle and placed him on a star that I hand-cut and then embellished with a white gel pen.  The glitter ribbon is matted on brown cardstock.

Let It Snow!

Oh YES!  I love it when I can stay in my cozy home and watch it snow!  I'm happiest when everyone is here safe and sound...but there is nothing quite like watching a quiet snow fall!

I had to make another snowman card....this one again features poinsettias from Poinsettia and Holly Pre-Colored Digital Set from Fred She Said Digital Designs.  I printed them out smaller for this card...the beauty of digital images...they can be made to fit any situation!

The adorable snowman comes from the Hat Tippin Snowman set.  Again, these are precolored, but you can also by the line images if you have a yen to color!

Twisted Twine Flowers

Today I've got Twisted Twine flowers to share with you for MarkerPOP!  I liked the boyish cards...but we need some girlish cards with these fun embellies as well!

The sentiment for this card comes from Wild Rose Studio's set Bella with Bouquet.
This card is another version featuring a sentiment that a got from the Some Odd Girl set Owl Days.

My TIP for TUESDAY is that sometimes it's OK to cut apart the sentiments in your sets if you would use them more in a different form. This is something I would have never considered at one time...but this sentiment originally said happy owl-days, and I'm not really sure what I would ever use that sentiment for.  I do know I don't mind wishing someone happy days though, so out the scissors came!

Twirled Twine Card Trio!

It's Michelle here today with a new to me technique...I'm calling it twirled twine...because that is basically all you do!  I'm also calling this 3D Thursday as I am not stamping at all...just playing with twine!

MarkerPOP has opened a new site www.craftkin.com and here is a little bit about them:
Craftkin proudly offers crafting and D.I.Y products that are eco friendly and high quality. Our goal is to make it easy and affordable to shop for the latest products that provide a high standard of design, quality and functionality. Our products are hand selected by trusted manufacturers to ensure quality in both manufacturing and sustainability.
This is a thin twine which I liked for this technique as it did not add a lot of bulk to my card.  I did not find that the twine untwisted while I worked with it.

How could I not like this one..it screamed Green Bay Packers to me!  I can see these medallions as fun to use on cards or in scrapbooks....or even on ornaments or banners or other fun decor elements.

Here is how I did it:

1. Start with a cardstock circle and then trim a red-lined tape sheet circle the same size.
2.  Attach the tape circle to the cardstock circle and punch a hole in the middle.
3.  Feed your baker's twine through the center and then tape the tail to the back.
4.  I added a glue dot to fill in the hole again.
I switched photos on you....I forgot to photograph the process the first time...so this is a second medallion in the works on a black cardstock circle.

5.  You can see I started wrapping the twin around keeping it firm and smooth and I go.
6.  When you get to the outside edge, just wrap the tail to the back and tape again.
7.  Add your fun medallion to your project!

Today's card is a fun one that utilizes designer paper to simply showcase the Prickley Pear image GG0181 Child with Lamb.

The papers are from Prima's North Country collection.  I colored the image with Copic Markers:
E44, E47, E43, E40, BG72, BG10, BG000, C1, E00, E02.

My only other embellishment is Candi.

Winter Decor!

I have something a bit different for you today for Prickley Pear...a Winter Décor post!  We don't celebrate the holidays in the traditional manner, so I went more with Winter Décor...I find pops of red popping up this time of year!

My first photo is of a project I did for Prickley Pear a few years ago...I used the HH0082 Winter's Glow image which I did up with the glitter and acetate technique and then embellished with some paper embroidery.  Hubby made up a frame for the card, it's very sparkly and the embroidery gives a homespun feel as well!
This is a peek at the decor by our front door.  I went with a fun wire and twine snowflake which I embellished with a poinsettia, a few fun berries and some white snowball thingys.  I change the decor on the frame out for each season...there is a snowman coming up for January!
I love this little wire and vine wrapped snowman, he's sitting outside our patio doors with his little shovel!
This is on top of a Pottery Barn inspired library cabinet hubby made for me...I found some white flowers that have lights in them and the red berries just seemed right with them.  Can't say they are holiday decor though....they live there all year round!  I did add the white artichoke though for the winter season...and I can't go wrong with old books....I love them!
And finally, here is one more project that lives out year round, but with the red berries it also reads winter.  It is a stamped image that we painted....and no I can't paint, but it was in a workshop and I like it enough that it lives on my wall year round!

I hope you have enjoyed a peek into some of our winter decor!

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

I have a quick card for you today featuring Prickley Pear stamps and a fun Vellum Embossing Technique!

I stamped the FF0020 Eagle image in Stazon ink onto some ivory vellum and let it dry.  Once dry, flip the image over on a foam pad.  Rub and embossing stylus gently over the image *coloring* it.  As you rub your stylus, the vellum will turn white as the fibers start to stretch.  You are adding height to your image.  When you have it the way you like it, then color the beak on the backside of the image with a Copic Marker.  I then adhered the embossed vellum image to So Saffron cardstock with tiny glue dots hidden beneath my stamping.

Papers are from Teresa Collins' Everyday Moments Collection.  C0007 Dreams Take Flight is stamped and popped up on foam over banner tails.

Frosty The Snowman

...was a jolly happy soul!  The winter release from Prickley Pear rubber stamps is so adorable!

GG0180 Frosty The Snowman is the perfect backdrop for so many winter cards!  And what could be cuter than GG0184 Snowman With Lantern?!  I colored the image up with Copic Markers:  YG97, Y17, YR16, B97, B95, B93, B91, E44, RV10, BG000, R83, T2, R81, E43, T4, W7, W5, W3.

I added a fun embellishment using CLR031A Poinsettia 2 Holiday Clear Set, D031 Poinsettia Die, D040 Pine Branch Die.

Other embellishments include a Cheery Lynn die and some Candi Dots.

Inspiration Challenge - MarkerPOP

It's my day on the MarkerPop blog...and today I'm sharing a card using a Sherri Baldy image called Summer Swing.  My inspiration for you this week to us add lace of some sort to your card.

In the photo you can see how I embellished the lace further with a strip of coordinating designer paper!

The paper collection I used was Howdy Doody from My Mind's Eye, however you can use a similar color palette with the Sweetest Thing's Tangerine Collection. The image is colored with Copic Markers.
