Zentangle Inspired Card Set!

Oh, what do you think I was doing while tending that garage sale?!  I was reading books and making zentangle tiles for these cards!  What a hoot!
The colored frames are from The Paper Cut, and I wanted to use them for this, so I measured white paper and cut 2 1/2 x 2 1/4 inch rectangles.
This is so fun to do because it takes so few supplies and can be put down and picked up as time allows.
You can see that I repeated some of the patterns on all of the cards, but I snuck new ones in here and there.  I am working on a pattern book, but I won't be showing that until I have more to show!
The final step on all of these was to add a bit of pencil shading, which I did today along with a bit of distressing.  These are so fun to do and perfectly flat for mailing!

Have you tried Zentangle-Inspired Art yet?!

More Endless Creations Creations!

I have two cards using Endless Creations images today!  I just love this happy little birthday cake...and how about that fun sentiment?  Love the font and small size that fits perfectly on a card leaving plenty of room to embellish.  Papers are by My Mind's Eye.
Here are some more of the flowers I stamped on colored designer paper and then embellished with Copic markers and a Signo white gel pen before hand cutting.  The little girls have been dressed with paper piecing. I colored their hair with Copic Markers.  Again, papers are by My Mind's Eye and I finished this card with faux stitching and a banner.

Kevin and Beth are bouncing all over the country to stamp shows...if you can pop in and say hey!

Victorian Trike

What a weekend!  It's been busy, busy, busy...we had a 3 day yard/garage sale...and how wonderful it feels to be free of so much stuff we can no longer use!  I am going to try to squeak one more day in next it is village-wide sales I have one more week to dig out stuff to sell!

It is very straight-forward and simple...but I love the touch of the flowers in the center of the wheels!  Flower is from CLR012A Flowers 2 and D012 Flowers die were used.

Tulip Card Set

Oh, the grass is turning green, my daughter is playing in every spot of mud she can out earthworms!!  The bulbs are popping up...and I'm in the mood for tulips!

This is image is by Faith and was in her Designed2Delight store.  Not sure if she plans on moving it over to the From The Heart Stamps store or not....but I'm loving it anyway!  Here I paired it with a Cheery Lynn die, SU! background stamps and Candi Dots.  All images colored by Copic Markers
This one also features the SU! background stamps.  I had some scraps left from a die cutting session that were too good to I used them here and embellished them with hand stitching.
This one simply is layered on designer paper.
This one has a hand embroidered border...they all make my hear sing!  Happy Spring!!!!

Precious Pet Memory Album featuring Prickley Pear

Today I am sharing a project I made for a friend who lost a dear pup.  The new pet stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps were a perfect touch to tie the album together.

Bo Bunny 6x6 Bare Naked Binder
DeJa Views 12x12 Paper Pack
EE0190 Dogs Leave Paw Prints
BB0045 Paw Print, sm.
GG0196 A Loyal Companion
DD0211 Paw Print

I stamped the paw prints with Gathered Twigs Distress Inks with generation stamping.  (I stamped them off once before adding them to the album so they are more subtle)

I will just show a few of the pages...the paw prints walk across each page perfectly tying the pages together.

And finally, the back cover where I stamped the A Loyal Companion image.

So, as you can see, these stamps work perfectly for scrapbooking as well as sympathy cards for pets.

Monday Inspiration and Blog Hop Winners!

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend...I know I did!    Today I'm sharing a card with some more new images from Prickley Pear:  GG0194 Poppy Bud, EE0188 Mothers Hold.

I colored the images with Copic Markers and fussy cut them out so I could layer them on a cuttlebugged panel.  I still love that folder and it's one I got way back when they first came out!  I layered the white embossed cardstock on some Riccio Astrosilver Embossed Metallic cardstock from The Paper Cut.  I love that stuff!    The green bow is some lace seam binding...I love the color and feminine touch!

You Put The Happy In My Day!

I have another post for Endless Creations today!  I love these flower images.  There is one image that is solid and another that is the outline.  I cut a pile of them out and dressed them up with Copic Markers and Signo White Gel Pen detailing.  The background flowers are stamped and then overstamped with the  solid image.  Don't you love this sentiment?!
And this card is kind of a hoot!  I made the flower out of a men's tie image!  I stamped it on designer paper a gazillion times and then cut each one out.  I folded the knot of the tie down on each one and it formed my flower!

I have spring on my brain....there are flowers popping out everywhere!    You can catch a peek at these cards in the Endless Creations show booth!

Thursday, April 10, 2014

I meant to post this card the other day with my others of the same theme...but it didn't make the today it gets it's own!

The rose is from the Designed2Delight set and the love image is one I stamped on acetate many moons ago.  Not sure what the company is, but it is a gorgeous image.   Papers are from My Mind's Eye.  The red love word is an element from the paper that I popped up over the acetate image.

Endless Creations Creations!

Today I'm sharing some cards I made for Beth at Endless Creations...they are headed to her show if you happen to be lucky enough to visit the show booth take a peek!

This first card is a fun way to give a gift card!  It is a mini card attached to the front of a A2 sized panel.  I used papers from various My Mind's Eye collections for this card.  I used the paper piecing technique to add color to my coffee cups!  I used a touch of faux stitching and Copic markers to jazz up the card a bit.
Here is a peek at the inside of the card.  I attached a faux gift card in there so you could see my intent!  The message could be added under the gift card or on the inside of the card opposite the gift card.
My second card features the same coffee theme.  I added a floral banner.  I added a touch of Copic Markers to shade my flowers which were stamped on pink designer paper.  I then added the white gel pen accents to make them pop!  Gems were added to the flowers as well.

I stamped the cups/mugs on various designer papers and added a touch of Copic markers to them as well.

I just love the sentiment...even though I don't love coffee!  I like the idea...but I prefer my coffee drinks frozen and laden with sugar and whipped cream!

More Die Storage Ideas!

If you know me, you know I like organizing things almost as much as I like stamping!  Today I have a new way to organize your Prickley Pear dies! I showed the way I had them organized a while ago on this post.  That worked pretty well, but the dies are heavy and I was popping the pegs in my binders that were made of plastic.

I ran across this idea and decided to tweak it to work for me, and I'm liking it much better!
These are Clear Pockets that come 25 to a pack.  I cut the white cardstock inserts to fit each pocket and I had some magnet sheets on hand from my former organization, so I used pieces of the magnet as needed.  You could skip the magnet step since the pockets do have a flap that closes, but I need things all neat and tidy, so it was magnets for me!

You can see how you can store the nesting dies along with the shape die in the same pocket by simply overlapping the die if you wish.  I decided to do this so all of the dies I need are in one pocket!

It is easy to group the dies together by theme as well.
You can see I also wrote the name and item numbers of each die in the package along the top.  This makes blogging a breeze. You could label them, but I don't have a label maker and other than this post, they are not on display, so my handwriting works for me!
Here you can see how small a pile the dies in the clear pockets makes.
And here you can see the stack of cd cases the dies came out of...which was another way I stored dies previous to the binder method.  I can get a TON more dies in the same space with less packaging.

In this photo you can also see my clear sets which I store in clear envelopes that I store my finished cards in.  I simply slip the sets in along with a backing sheet which I have labeled with the set name and number.  The envelopes are not big enough to close, and that is fine with me, they are quicker to grab and return to the package.  I find that this works really well for me since putting stamps away is not a part of stamping that I enjoy! :)

Just thought I would share another great option when it comes to organizing your stamping supplies!!

Prickley Pear Monday....Baby Card!

It's Prickley Pear Monday, and today I have a baby card for you!  I went with a monochromatic theme with soft peach and cream tones.  For my sentiment I stamped on washi tape and then embellished it with some Candi dots.  Other touches are faux stitching with white gel pen and gel pen accents on the die cuts.

Be sure to pop on over to the Prickley Pear blog's our first glimpse of the new design team's projects!  So fun!

I have a fun feature that I am going to do occasionallya clean and simple card and then another using similar supplies, but stepped up a bit!  I'd love to hear which cards you prefer and why!

The images I used this week are from Prickley Pear Rubber StampsJJ0077 Nesting Finches and CC0069 Thinking of You.

This card uses the same main image, but I fussy cut the image and popped it up on foam tape.  I also used hand embroidery and distressing on my card.

Roses, Roses, Roses....

Hello there!  It's been a busy week here...but I do have a trio of cards to share with you using a beautiful image by Faith.  This was from the Beautiful Life set from Designed2Delight.  I'm not sure if/when she may add the set to the From The Heart Stamps site, but this is a favorite set of mine...and these cards were just too fun not to share!

The imgages have been colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  I paired it up with papers from My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found Union Square collection here.  A bit of lace, a rose button, a few rub-ons and faux stitching/distressing finish this card.
For this card the papers are from Hot Off The Press' Classic Cardmaker's Creative Pack.  I added a rub-on and a heart brad to finish this CAS card.
And finally, for this card I used more papers from the My Mind's Eye's Union Station collection, rub-ons and hand embroidery.  The fan image has been in my stash for more than 10 years...I'm sure of it!  It is gold embossed and then shaded with Copic markers.  I popped the fan up on foam tape and then taped it down with scor-tape several times so it looks wavy/dimensional.

Thanks for stopping by!
