Live. Love. Bark!

Ooh, I couldn't let one more flocking idea get away on me...for this cute card for The Rubber Cafe I flocked the  pup's footprints!  I stamped them with brown ink and then I used the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue and the Detailer Kit to add glue to each paw before flocking.  Once the glue dried, I did cut out.  I had thought about just stamping on the designer paper, but decided that on white paper the paws would pop just a bit more.  They are quick and easy to cut if you remember to turn the paper and not your scissors when you cut.

I used the heart from a prior card and distressed the edges.  My other elements are cut from the designer paper included in the kit...such a happy little collection!

The images are colored with Copic Markers and then popped up on foam tape for dimension.

A Bit o' Zen...

When I saw this image in the new Prickley Pear release I immediately thought of Zentangle.  It's been a bit since I shared a Zentangle creation on my blog....so for today, I did a frame for my feature image.

Love is a Four-Legged Word!

No flocking on my Rubber Cafe card today featuring the Love, The Most Wonderful Feeling Creative Cafe Kit.

I loved the kitties, so decided to dress them up with Copic Markers and the fussy cut the image.  I know everyone is not as nutty as I am with cutting, but I love that you can  peek between the  kitties and their tails...so fun!

I stamped the sentiment on the acetate in the kit with Stazon Ink.  I cut a heart aperture in the card by tracing a heart shaped piece of cardstock I had on hand and then cutting with a craft knife.  I hand pierced around the heart and then used embroidery floss to frame my heart and attach the acetate to my designer paper.

The shaker pieces are from last month's kit, but there are similar sequins in the store.  The cardstock and pearl stickers are included in this month's kit.  I added a few tiny glass ball beads for a fun effect.

Welcome back!  Hope you enjoyed joining in on our Spring Is Coming Blog Hop Days 1 & 2 and are back for some more inspiration today!!!

We are blog hopping for three days to give you a great peek at the new release!  Be sure to leave comments at all of the stops along the way every day....for your chance to win a FABULOUS PRIZE!

The winner will be selected on February 22 and announced on February 23 in our Monday Inspiration post.  Good Luck!

I have a fun tutorial to share with you for a peek-a-boo shaker card.  I gave you some ideas of this a week ago, but here is the process.
Supplies:
I used a frame/card set from The Paper Cut, but you could create your own frame/card with your dies of choice.
JJ0090 Stacked Robins
EE0207 Rockin Robin
Copic Markers
Acetate (2 pieces)
Foam Tape
Scor-Tape
Birdseed ( or in a pinch I made some faux birdseed up with Poppy Seeds, Sesame Seeds, Quinoa and Mustard Seed)
Assorted Prima Flowers
Pearl Stickers
Glue Dots

Tape the acetate on with some ScorTape.  I wasn't thinking here and did the edges of the card, but I ended up covering that up with foam tape.
Not pictured, but I also added tape around the window on the front of the card and added acetate.
Here I added the foam tape, so the top of the card is popped up and the birdseed floats between the two pieces of acetate.

I added a piece of newsprint designer paper to the inside off the card so that it shows through the clear acetate shaker box.  Just be sure to write your message so that it doesn't peek out as well!

I added the birds and the flowers onto the front of the card and there you have it!

Thanks so much for hopping with us...I hope you have been inspired!

Spring Is Coming Blog Hop Day 2 ~ Fly Away!

Welcome back!  Hope you enjoyed joining in on our Spring Is Coming Blog Hop Day 1 and are back for some more inspiration today!!!

We are blog hopping for three days to give you a great peek at the new release!  Be sure to leave comments at all of the stops along the way every day....for your chance to win a FABULOUS PRIZE!

The winner will be selected on February 22 and announced on February 23 in our Monday Inspiration post.  Good Luck!

Oh, this card was so fun to make!  It is so fun when they just fall together!
I stamped the background with EE0208 5 Cent Hugs & Kisses with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
I did some paper embroidery with red embroidery floss.  The star is from some designer paper and then I did the paper embroidery border on that as well with black embroidery floss.  The white star is actually a piece of waxed paper that I used on a different technique many moons ago...I couldn't toss it, so I cut one of them out and created this embellishment from my scrap bin with a piece of cork.  Not sure if those are Tim Holtz brads or not...but they were my perfect finishing embellishment.  I tucked the sentiment from the new CLR013E Circle Set Sentiments set in there and the super-adorable HH0173 Boy with Airplane image is colored with Copic markers.

I used four stamps from this set as well as the new D052 die.

I hand stitched some silver designer paper as well as some pink designer papers from my scrap bins.  My embellishments were some Candi dots and a few gems. The circle sentiment is popped up on foam tape.

Here is today's Hop List, Enjoy!

You're So Pawesome!

Eeps!  I can't stop flocking these sweet little critters from The Rubber Cafe's Love, The Most Wonderful Feeling Creative Cafe Kit!

This week I stamped the critters on white cardstock and then colored the dog brown with a copic marker. (E44)  I then covered the pup with Scrap Happy Sheer Glue using the Detailing Kit, being careful to avoid the lines of the image and added the Bow Wow Brown Flock.  I repeated the process on the kitty with White Socks Flock.  I fussy cut the image and then added a touch of to the pup's nose for a fun textural detail.

I made a border by fussy cutting one of the papers included in the kit  Added a banner and a few gems to ground my image.  I added a cardboard sticker from the kit over a ribbon as my only other embellishment.

Wintery Wreath

Look at what I found in my never posted file for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps...not sure how this wintery wreath snuck through the cracks, but with the freshly fallen snow in our parts I am thinking it is still fitting...and it's never to early to start creating cards for the next holiday season!

I die cut D031 Poinsettia Die and stamped CLR031A Poinsettia 2 Holiday images on blue designer paper and then accented them with white gel pen.  I curled the petals and then added gems.  The leaves are by Cheery Lynn, but D037 Leaf Set would work just as well.

I added some Martha Stewart snowflake punched pieces and topped them with baby poinsettias.  I added a strip of swirly gems and some seam binding and the touch of faux stitching finishes my card.

Peek-A-Boo Shaker Cards

Today I'm sharing a pair of fun shaker cards for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps; one normal one and then a Peek-a-Boo shaker card!

The shaker box on this first card is clear through to the inside of the card where I stamped the sentiment and some light blue snowflakes!  I have a tutorial coming soon with the new Prickley Pear release....so keep your eye on my blog for another great sample and directions too!

These shaker cards were made with a card/frame from The Paper Cut.
This card is more traditional.  I lined the back of the shaker box with white cardstock because I did the Glitter and Acetate technique on the Love stamp that I stamped on the acetate and then glittered on the back.  I didn't want to see the unfinished glittered back, so I lined it to cover it up.

I love the addition of the sequins on the outside of the card that coordinate with the ones inside of the shaker box!  In bot of these cards I added a sprinkling of crystal glitter for a bit of extra fun!

For The Birds...

I have bins with lots of colored images and bits and pieces in them.  This image is from Designed 2 Delight and was colored with Copic Markers.  The stenciled piece on the bottom was a scrap that was just too fun to toss.  Soft Sky cardstock from SU! and the Tim Holtz embossing folder tie it all together for a fun little birthday card.
This card is a pre-colored digital image from Studio 313/McMahon Five Designs.  I gave her a dandy backdrop with an Inkadinkadoo stamp and some Stampendous Sparkle Dot stickers.  Washi tape finishes off the bottom of my card and the flower is a sticker my daughter ditched.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Love Me Some Zentangle!

Oh, it has been a bit since I have shared any Zentangle cards here on the blog.  I have a few zentangle cards to share with you today.  I love the pop of the black and white with the yellow on this first card.  I embellished this card with a few stickers from years gone past.  The heart is popped up on foam tape.  The embossing folder is by Craft Concepts.
This card is all black and white with just the purple and blue pop of the flower.  Cuttlebug embossing folder and some fun washi tape!

Chicks Rule!

I have a pair of Inky Antics cards to share today...both are shaker cards with sequins.  This one I cut out a frame with two of the Spellbinders Labels Four dies and created my shaker box with that.
Images are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

I used paper punched circles and sequins for embellishments on this card.

Once again I used a paper scrap on my card.  This time I used the scrap from the prior card to create another sort of shaker box!  I added a variety of colorful sequins to the shaker box and scattered a few on top of the card as well.  The sentiment is applied to the top of the shaker window.

The Warmth of a Cold Nose!

Oh, how stinkin' cute is this?  The first thing I thought of when I saw the add-on set Love Is A Four-Legged Word for this month's Love, The Most Wonderful Feeling Creative Cafe Kit was to flock the pups.  I had a birthday card when I was a wee one that had a beautiful flocked kitty, I loved that card!  How fun that we can create these vintage-inspired images with a bit of Funky Flock!

Tip:  When applying the Funky Flock with the Scrap Happy Glue and the Detailer Kit, be sure to use a light hand with the glue and do not put glue over the detail lines on your image.  (eyes, hip/leg lines)  When the image dries, run a craft knife tip lightly along those lines again to make them pop!

What is a valentine without some You're So Fine Glitter?  I added a glitter heart and a blingy collar to the dog.  Then I decided to glitz up the cardstock sticker included in the kit with a bit more glitter!

My final touches are a bit of red ribbon and a Heart Pearl that anchors the sentiment.

New Year Snowflake

I am in the midst of cleaning up my files and I see a Fred She Said snowflake card that never hit the blog.  This was a freebie set that I just love.  I hit the snowflake with a bit of Copic in blue and then some Art Institute Glitter to make it sparkle!

The embossing folder is by Crafts Too and just looks great on the shimmery cardstock.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up! I believe and the snowflake is by Martha Stewart.

Birthday Tweet!

Time for another Endless Creations card today...an old-fashioned tweet...a card in the mailbox!!
For this card I created a wreath with the BB15 Retro Daisy Open image.  I stamped on colored cardstock, accented with Copic Markers and then with a Signo White Gel Pen.

I just love the little CC40 KB's Birds image which I colored, cut out and popped up above the seam binding bow.

The sweet sentiment is C161 Birthday Tweet.  Embossing folder is from Cart Us.

Winter Greetings...

Today's card is a Clean And Simple one for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

I colored the image with Copic markers and then accented it with You're So Fine Glitter.  The patterned paper did all of the work.  I added a few showflake accents and sequins.

Which Came First....

Today's cards are for Inky Antics and I think the sentiment on this first card is funny.  How cute for a birthday you are running behind on.  That is a frantic chicken image!  Images are colored with Prismacolor Pencil and Gamsol.  Papers are from the Heidi Grace Sunshowers collection.  I created a heart frame on the blue panel and added sequins for my embellishment.
The heart reappears on this card along with faux stitching.  Again, sequins make an appearance.
