Going Places - Hello!

Oh, this little card for The Rubber Cafe using the Going Places Creative Cafe Kit just makes me grin!  I love the happy little scooter image which I paper pieced and accented with Copic markers.  Is the little exhaust trail not the cutest thing ever?  I could just see it stitched out in red floss...and then it turned into a card border....and in keeping with the simplicity of the card, why not stitch the hello and leave it at that?

I simply stamped the hello and heart trail images and then pierced a hole every little bit, shorter distances on the curves and longer ones on the straighter areas.  For the card border I used the Scor-Pal and Scor-Bug to mark my stitches and then simply connected the dots.  It was fun and easy and I just love the results!

Quite Like You...

Love the saying on this card for The Rubber Cafe featuring the Going Places kit!   I loved the little paper airplanes along with the squiggly trails included in this set.  And speaking of not seeing the world the same....I saw a fun photo corner using two of the plane images!  I stamped the planes in Color Box inks; half in Warm Red and then a little more than half with Tangerine for a fun blended effect.  I popped the camera up on foam tape.  I just had to add a bit o glitter, so dressed my globe up in You're So Fine Glitter in Blue Skies, Limeade Green, Passion Pink and Bronze Medal.  Once dry, I popped the globe, plans and camera up on foam tape for dimension.  The globe stand is fussy cut and colored with Copic Markers.

A Few For The Fellas

My fella cards have been running low....so I put a few together...there are lots more to come with Father's Day coming soon!  This card is super simple with the Vintage Motorcycle image from TLC Creations, some washi tape that is a must have for fella cards and a birthday saying from Penny Black.
This jeep is a fun one with the embossed metallic background and smooshed bottle cap.

How 'bout a Burger?

It's always grilling season at our house, but somehow it's just more fun eating the burgers when the sun is shining and the leaves are green and the breeze is blowin!  I could skip the ants, but they make for a cute card!  The burger image is by Doodle Pantry and the other images are from Inky Antics' 10973SC BBQ Time Clear Set.
Thanks for stopping by!

Life is a Grand Adventure....

This card is a fun one using the Going Places Creative Cafe Kit.  I used the same Tim Holtz Distress stains in Salty Ocean and Wild Honey for my background.  It is the perfect backdrop for the map image.

Check out that adorable airplane...it is flying!  The wired cord included in the kit made a perfect spring when wrapped around the tail of a paintbrush.  I tucked the end under the map panel and then squished the spring to the side a bit.  I glued the airplane onto the end of the spring with Scrap Happy Sheer Glue.  Once dry, the plane will lay flat in an envelope for mailing, but will pop up with some fun dimension when it is taken out of the envelope!

For this card I added a touch of glitter in Terrifically Teal for the heart.

Supplies:
Stamps, embossing folder, paper, wired cord: Going Places Creative Cafe Kit.

Get Well Wishes

I have a few Get Well cards to share today.  This first one features images from Fred She Said Designs.  The image is from the Hydrangea Bouquet set.  I colored the image with Copic Markers. The vase is further enhances with some dimensional paint...it makes the vase look like an old-fashioned glass vase.    The sentiment is also from the Sentimental Flower Doodledallion set.
This second card features images from DesignedtoDelight and is just a fun little pick me up card.

See The World!

Today's card for The Rubber Cafe features the Going Places kit.  For the background paper on this card I used Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains in Salty Ocean and Wild Honey.  Once dry, I stamped the images with a Onyx Black Versafine Ink Pad.

I used the embossing folder included in this kit, wrapping twine around it and then finishing it off with a flair button.  I used the heart from the So Many Places set to separate my sentiments.

Supplies:
Stamps, paper, flair, twine, embossing folder: Going Places kit.

Teacher Appreciation Day!

I can't believe it is that time of year already, but it is Teacher Appreciation Day!  We are so thankful to have some great teachers for our kiddos.  I give them kudos...I don't have the patience that they display on a daily basis!    For my daughter's teacher we used a Designed 2 Delight digital image that has teacher written all over it!  I found some chalkboard paper in my stash that she personalized for her teacher!  My son used a version of this for a favorite middle school teacher who encourages him to think and to be empathetic and makes learning fun.  I love the enthusiasm in his voice when he talks about her classes.
And our piano teacher makes the cut again this year as a splendid teacher.  Under her direction, my seventh grade son took a Class A piano solo to Solo and Ensemble and got a *1.  Saturday he took the piano solo to the state competition and scored a 1-N.  He went from being totally overwhelmed to playing the piece memorized and beautifully.  This year has brought music into our home like never before and I am so very, very thankful!

Poppies and Dragonflies!

Wow...the world is popping in our neck of the woods!  I'm sure my flowers have popped up 4 inches in the last 3 days!  I have a few blooming and life is bursting forth everywhere!  I LOVE spring!!

Today's cards feature Prickley Pear's Poppy stamp colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  The dragonfly on this first card is a dragonfly stencil from Dreamweaver that I tangled in and colored with Copic Markers.
This card is the same design, but uses a cute little dragonfly from Fred, She Said Designs.

Congratulations!

I have been on a major cleaning binge lately!  This card came together with a bunch of bits and bobs that I had laying around.  A scrap of lace, a colored image and a Martha Stewart punched element.

The image is from Magenta and I colored it using the Wet Wipe Technique.  You basically drop reinkers onto a wet wipe randomly and create your own rainbow pad.  I made this image years ago, assume it was certainly celery, almost amethyst and some sort of coral from SU!

I am hoping to get back to regular posts again...wish me luck in that endeavor!!
