Embossed Vellum Eagle
I've not said anything yet....but I'm so happy to share with you that I'm now on the Design Team for http://www.therubbercafe.com/! I've been anxiously awaiting my new rubber...and it stamps up beautifully!
Supplies:
Stamp - Eagle Petroglyph, http://www.therubbercafe.com/
Designer Paper - Fancy Pants, Pappa Collection
Vellum - Tan (unknown source)
Cardstock - Tan (unknown source), Dark Brown (Bazzil)
Linen Thread (SU!)
Copic Markers
For this image, I stamped the eagle on tan vellum with black Stazon ink. Then I flipped it over and with the handle of my stipple brush I gently but firmly *embossed* the eagles head on a styrofoam pad. This will turn the vellum white and give it a dimensional look....perfect for feathers! I colored the beak on the back of the vellum with a Copic Marker. I then cut out the image and attached it to the cardstock with mini glue dots.
I ran the designer paper through the Diamonds in the Rough Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. Then I sanded it and faux stitched it to the card base. The star is cut out of the designer paper and attached with foam tape over the linen thread.
Thank you for stopping by!!

Congradulations on the design team. I don't know how I have not heard of this company before, their images are right up my alley.

What a great card, especially for a soldier or on the 4th of July - so patriotic! Beautifully done!
I'm off to check out the rubber cafe!
Congrats on being on the design team. You've got a lot of nice stuff on your blog ... looking forward to seeing much more.
