Wishes in Eggplant!

Well, tomorrow's workshop is going to be on the Faux Bleach Technique....or as I learned it a few years ago as Ironing Out The Details!

  • To do this technique, you emboss your image with versamark ink and clear embossing powder on your cardstock. I used a Penny Black stamp and white cardstock in this instance.
  • Then I applied some Eggplant Adirondack Color Wash spray to the cardstock with a sponge...leaving it somewhat streaky.
  • Next, with an old iron on the highest heat setting, I layed the image face down on a few sheets of typing paper...and covere it with another sheet.
  • Iron the image to melt the embossing powder off onto the typing paper....you are left with an image that appears to have been bleached. I leaves you with a *how did you do that* sort of look.

I then trimmed mine into a tag shape. I layered it on a white panel that had been run through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Embossing Folder. Oval punches, ribbon and Wish are by SU! The butterflies are the Marta Stewart Butterfly Punch that I doubled up and stapled. I covered the staple with some adhesive stones.

Awesome card! I was just reading somewhere (perhaps a magazine) a little about bleaching...oh, I know where, it was in the Stampin' Up catalogue. They didn't use this method though I don't think. Haven't tried bleaching yet.
very elegant and pretty Michelle!
