Winter Fun at The Rubber Cafe!
Ooooh, there is lots of new winter fun at The Rubber Cafe these days! These images are done with the glitter and acetate technique. I embossed the images carefully on acetate and then applied my glitters.
The lab is from the Winter Fun Labrador and Kitty set. I applied Art Institute glitters with glue. The lab is popped up with foam tape on a piece of Cuttlebugged cardstock.
For the Elegant Snowflake Border I embossed the images on acetate, and then I ran it through my Xyron sticker maker, embossing side up. I then applied my glitter to the back of the panel so you get all of the glitz and none of the mess! I ran a blue piece of cardstock through my Xyron and applied my glitter panel to it. I trimmed it to have a narrow border and then applied the darker blue glitter for my frame. Just had to have a little mess I guess!!
Other items on this card include Martha Stewart ribbon and snowflake punch. I came up with these fun lacey double snowflakes...by popping up the *petals* of the top snowflake just a touch you get some fun fluff and dimension on your snowflakes. Dress It Up Glitter Dots fit right in with the rest of my glitz! Designer paper is BasicGrey's Eskimo Kisses line.
This card is very similar, but uses papers from Imaginisce's Polar Expressions Collection. The tree is from SU! and is dimensional. I cut out three trees. The base/trunk of the tree is one layer. The trunk is colored with a copic marker. The next layer is the top two tiers of the tree and the final layer is just the top tier. Each layer is popped up with foam tape for a fun look.
Other items on this card include the snowflake buttons from Dress It Up. I cut the shanks off and applied them with glue dots. The beautiful velvet ric rac is from May Arts and adds some additional shine.
