Mia With Candy
It's Saturday and time for Anything But A Card on the MarkerPoP blog. I went with a tag to embellish a simple little Chinese Take Out Box.
I stamped Wild Rose Studio's image Mia with Candy on white cardstock. I wanted a funky tag shape, so I traced a tag that I liked to frame my image. I cut a second shape the same size since I wanted it to be substantial and also thicker to stitch.
I pierced around the edge and then stitched with some coordinating embroidery floss. I wanted the stitching to be prominent, so I used all six strands.
I trimmed the bottom of the tag with a ribbon and a trim to hide the stitching tails and ground my image. Finishing touches include some Twinkling Clouds sparkle flock for her hat trim and Glossy Accents for the candy cane and berries.
Copics used: W5, YG67, YG17, YG07, YG05, R89, R29, R27, E59, E57, E53, E02, E00.
The Take Out Box is from Michaels, and I embellished it with a flower from my new Inky Antics Flower stamp set. You simply stamp the flower shape you want onto a HoneyComb paper pad and cut out several pieces. Stretch out the honeycomb piece and wrap around a gluber to create a rosette. These are perfect for embellishing little boxes and bags for any occasion!
Be sure to stop by the MarkerPop store and check out the new look and products!!
