A Cheerful Sort of Card
Let me say right off the top, Apricot is *not* my favorite cardstock color....but this image is one I did with Prismacolor Pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits....and it's been laying on my desk for quite a while. This was my first and only attempt at this technique....and once it was done I didn't know what to do with it!! SO....since I'm a nut, I decided it was too blah on white cardstock....so I cut it out leaving a tiny white border around the image. Yes, it took a while....but I do like to cut....after everyone is in bed and the house is quiet....so relaxing!! Then layering it plain cardstock seemed too blah...so the cuttlebug folder came out to give it a little help. I faux stitched this down for some edge interest. I *love* this ribbon from May Arts....it's so soft and doesn't add so much bulk when tied in a knot or bow. The pink scallop punch (SU!) is a little large for the bouquet...but I wanted to get a sentiment on there somehow!! The white punch is from the Martha Stewart collection and is pierced and layered on a red cardstock circle punch. A lowly toothpick is my flower pick....my 5yo son thought I was so silly using toothpicks on my card!! Ah well.....maybe I am!
