Today I have had fun using up some scraps from a project that I am working on that I can share soon. The papers are all distressed with various colors of Distress Inks. I cut all of the scraps into geometric shapes and collaged them to make a fun card background.
The sentiment is from Studio 490 Wendi Venchi's Art Works set. The finishing touch is some washi tape that I matted on white and then black cardstock.
Here is another version that is monochromatic.
Thanks for stopping by!
For both cards I colored the image with Copic Markers: G28, G46, Y38, V17 and V5. I fussy cut the image and popped it up on foam tape over the Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder.
This second card comes with the Out Of The Box Technique again, to reduce the white space around the image. I added a simple sentiment to this card from Stampers Anonymous. Again, it is on a Cuttlebug background that has been sanded.
I hope you are seeing signs of spring where you live!
For this first card I fussy cut the image, because you know I love that....and popped it up on foam tape over a Cuttlebug Script embossing folder. The sentiment is an old one from PSX that just seemed fitting. Such a beautiful moment each spring when we see the first signs of life!
Here I colored the image the same way and did a bit of the Out Of The Box technique where I only cut around the sides of the image to reduce the amount of white space around the image. I just love how the flower pops off of the white panel.
The beautiful papers in the My Mind's Eye On Trend 2 paper pack included in the kit have gold foil accents that just called to be paired up with You're So Fine Glitters!
The card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 of the light blue shimmer cardstock. I selected one of the designer papers from the pad and cut it to 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I wrapped the panel several times with the navy twine and tied a bow. Now the panel can be attached to an A2 folded card.
I cut out one of the cardstock elements to use a base for my cupcake. I matted it on a 3 1/8 x 2 1/4 inch piece of the light blue shimmer cardstock and attached it to the card as shown.
For the cupcake, stamp it on a piece of acetate with black Stazon ink. Once dry, flip it over and apply You're So Fine Sheer Glue to the back of the image with Tiny Detailer Kit as desired. I used Gold Medal glitter for the wrapper, Limeade Green glitter for the leaf, Princess Pink glitter for the lower flower petals.
TIP: The lighter flower petals were made by using Diamond Clear Cool Highlight glitter and then dusting it with the Princess Pink glitter while it was still wet.
TIP: To dry the glue a bit more quickly, I lay it on top of my Ott Lite....just a little tip for the impatient! *wink!*
Finally, I fussy cut the dried glittered image out, leaving a narrow border around the image.
TIP: To make the glittered piece to look more opaque and brilliant, stamp an identical image on white cardstock and cut it out just inside the outer line. Adhere your glittered piece to the top and then you will have a brilliant and sturdy element to add to your creation!
I added the image to my card with a bit of foam tape for dimension.
The card base is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch base of green cardstock from the kit that is attached to an A2 folded white card.
I used designer paper from the pad, 4 X 5 1/4 inches, included in the kit and added rub-ons down the left side as shown. I stamped the hats and sentiments onto the designer paper in black ink and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the lips onto the paper in a random fashion using Mowed Lawn distress ink that had been stamped off a few times.
The sentiments are stamped directly onto the card with black ink.
The little man is stamped on a scrap of white cardstock and is colored with Copic Markers. He is fussy cut and popped up onto an Action Wobbles that has been cut down to size.
Yup, you heard me right, I stamped with glue and then burnished various colors of the You're So Fine Glitters over the glue once it had dried a bit. I used Purple Rocks, Blue Skies and Lilac Purple. A quick tip for you....if you get a bit of glue somewhere you wish you hadn't, use a glue eraser to pick it and any stray glitter up!
Here is a video of the technique being done with some butterfly stamps!
The card base is a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch piece of the navy cardstock
included in the kit. I stamped my feathers with glue on a white
cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 4 inches. Once the glue/glittering was done
I distressed the edges of the panel.
The focal image is
stamped on a piece of 2 3/4 x 1 5/8 inches white cardstock. To reduce
the amount of white space around the feather, I took a ruler and drew a
pencil line at 2 inches and then cut off the outside piece, leaving a
narrow white border around the feather.
mat measures 2 1/4 x 1 7/8 inches. You can add glitter to a white piece
of cardstock by brushing the edge with some glue on your finger and
then glittering. Once the stamped image is on top it looks like the
whole thing is glittered! I popped the glitter framed image onto a blue
mat measuring 2 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches with foam tape.
