Karen Burniston in Cahoots with Riley and Company!

There is a new die line in town!  Karen Burniston in Cahoots with Riley and Company!   These dies are amazing fun to work with....my first card features the KB Riley Tree Pop-Up Die Set.  This set comes with the light green leaves, the tree trunk, flowers and more!  I gave my tree a dimensional look by tracing the leaf die on dark green cardstock and fussy cutting it out...I love the dimension this gives!

I love the Nature Edges Die Set which I used for the clouds and grass.  The grass is actually an out of the box use....there is real grass, but this is the negative side and I like that it looks like there might be a few leaves in the grass as well!

The little hearts on the tree come from the Twist Panel Pop-Up Die Set.  I could have used the flowers, but hearts are fun too!

Speaking of the Twist Panel Pop Up Die Set, I used that on the inside of this fun card!  What a fun surprise to greet you upon opening up this card!

Notice I again used the negative side of the grass from Nature Edges Die Set to frame my sentiment.  I was cutting out a bunch of grass and this scrap just seemed to need to be used this way!  The sentiment is from the Word Set 1: Greeting Die Set.  I love the practical greetings in this set from thanks, hello, congrats, thinking of you and my friend!

Check out the adorable critters from the Woodland Animals Die Set!  So sweet and fun!

Here you can see the tree created with the die cut behind the tree trunk and then I cut out the leaf die a second time in lighter cardstocks, accented them with Copic marker and then cut out individual leaves that I bent over my craft knife for dimension and stuck to the tree.  The flowers in the set are in bloom in both the branches and in the grass used correctly this time!  Love the solid dirt die that could also be snow or gently rolling meadows in another scene!

And finally, here is a tree in a meadow that isn't all dolled up with flowers....oh, the endless possibilities!  Love the sentiment!

These dies are all available right now for Pre-order...mailing in June!   I'd love to hear what you think!  More fun samples coming!!

Riley and Co Sports Fun

And here are the last two Coaster Box/Banner pieces. The pieces in the Sports Accessories Clear Set and the dies cover quite a variety of sports!  I created a soccer goal cage with the volleyball poles in the set.  I used embroidery floss to create my net....so fun!

And here you will see I cut the volleyball poles down yet again to make horse shoe poles!  The drink and baseball hat come from one of the original dress up sets!

These make me we wish for warm summer weather!  Hope you are having a great week!

I'm Sow Excited....

Today's post for Prickley Pear features some more of the new stamps that were released this month!

Prissy the Pig and I'm Sow Excited For You. The Blobby Flowers 2 and Blobby Flowers die make the perfect embellishment!

Be The Good

I am catching up my blog with more of the projects I made for the Riley and Co new release projects.

This first card features the Mushroom Lane image Tree Stump House 2. I colored up the image with Copic Markers and then fussy cut it. I cut apart the Be The Good image.  The sun and clouds are cut from some designer paper.
I continued to work on the Dress Up Riley Coaster Box/Banner for the show booth.
I created a frame using the new Nesting Ovals with Pierced Dots Dies.
Most of the elements on this piece feature the Summer Fun Clear Stamp Set and Dies.
Riley's tank top is actually a sweater that I cut the sleeves off of...remember it is fun to combine sets!!

The Journey Awakens The Soul

I have a few more Prickley Pear cards to share today.  This one features the new Della the Dragon image.  I colored her up with Copic markers and then did a bit of doodling on the wings.   I used the Journey Awakens sentiment.  I layered the images up over the Our Daily Bread's Boho Background die.

...and here is one more card using the adorable Row Houses Clear Stamp Set and Die Set.   I colored the images with Copic markers and then accented the card with white gel pen accents.
HINT:  The circle frame was created when I made yesterday's dragonfly card!  Minimize those scraps peeps!

Life Doesn't Have To Be Perfect To Be Wonderful!

It's been a fun week sharing all of the new Prickley Pear images in this release!
My first card features the Mason Jar image and Petunia images as well as A Heartfelt Thanks.
I colored the images and fussy cut them before layering them on some dies.
The oval die is from the Riley and Co Nesting Ovals with Pierced Dots set.
The beautiful background die is Our Daily Bread's Majestic Medallion die.

For this card I stamped the Life Doesn't Have To Be Perfect image on blue vellum with Stazon ink
I cut out a frame by using two of the Riley and Co Nesting Circles with Pierced Dots dies.
I stamped the Dainty Dragonflies on acetate with Stazon ink and then did the glitter and acetate technique on the back with glitter and glue.

Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear

This day has sped away on me...but here are some more cards to celebrate the Prickley Pear release this week!  This first card features the new Let Your Faith Be Bigger image.

I used the new Dainty Dragonflies Clear Set.  I used the glitter and acetate technique to color the dragonflies.  I stamped the images on acetate with Stazon ink.  Flip the images over and apply the glitter and glue to the back as desired.  I let them dry and in this case I cut them out by hand as my acetate was quite thick.

The square element on the card is the new Nesting Squares with Pierced Dots die from Riley and Co.
I did a spirelli inspired technique on this using embroidery floss.
This image is so sweet.  This one made me think of an old DT friend Angela Bode!  I stamped the Kitty image on the Nesting Ovals with Pierced Dots Die from Riley and Co.  The You Make Me Smile sentiment is an old favorite.

Be sure to check out the specials with this release by popping over to the Prickley Pear blog where you can see more inspiration!

It's Prickley Pear's release week and this is the new Row House Clear Set!  It is so fun to mix and match the different elements to make different houses and scenes.  Keep your eye peeled...I have more of these coming!

The Row House Die Set makes it super simple to pop these scenes together.

HINT:  Look at the images in the set and use them in a different way!  I created sidewalks by cutting apart a roof element!  SO fun!

Summertime Fun!

Another day of Riley and Co fun!  Today's projects feature summertime fun!
For this card I changed the volleyball poles into tennis poles and created a net with embroidery floss.  I also changed the baseball into a tennis ball with some creative coloring and accents with a white gel pen!  I also used some of the clothing from another Riley Dress Up set to create a double ruffled tennis outfit!!  It's fun to think out of the box.

This is just a fun one!  Love the die that cuts out the fishing pole so very perfectly!  And how stinkin cute is that fishing hat?  Coloring fish on the other hand?  I'm clueless!

This one from Mushroom Lane is an eye-popper!  I was inspired by the paper pack...my red and white light house turned red and blue!

Butterfly House!

Today is the first day of the Riley and Co release!  Today's card features the Mushroom Lane Butterfly House image!  I colored it up with Copic Markers and then did a bit of fussy cutting!

The butterfly house is layered on a paint chip.  We were recently off picking out paint for the little miss' room...and this one was in the running but just a bit too blue!  It matches perfectly with papers from the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray paper pad!  Stickers are from a Doodlebug set and the paper strip is cut from a catalog!  Oh fun it is to recycle!

Today would be a fine time to hop on over to the Riley and Co blog and see more of the images in this release!  There are specials.....check them out!

Happy Spring!

Oh, the snow is melting....and spring is waiting in the wings!  I just had to play with some springy images for today's Prickley Pear post!  Just love Penny...and I have colored her up in pink plenty of times...but today she has on a blue frock!  I used some designer paper from my bins and a piece of a recycled greeting card to create her springy scene!  There is a bit of a grass die cut there from Cheery Lynn.  Sentiments is from the Clear Build A Bird 2 set.
This card fell together out of my bins of bits and pieces. I used the following images:
Live, Dance, Laugh
Butterflies Clear Set
Butterfly Die
Blobby Flowers 2 Clear Set
Blobby Flowers Die

All images are stamped on scraps of designer paper and then highlighted with a white gel pen.

Cupped Roses for Art Gone Wild

Today's post is for Art Gone Wild featuring Cupped Roses by Catherine Scanlon.  I have to say these images are super fun to color if you enjoy such activities!  I love changing the color combinations and papers and embellishments and seeing how many different combinations I can come up with!

I color my images with Copic Markers and fussy cut them....another relaxing activity with the right scissors!
This card features the entire image and is 5 x 7 inches.  I added paper embroidery to frame my image.

Bloom Arts Allium Spray!

Lisa at Bloom Arts has released this beautiful floral digital image, Allium Spray, with two ways to get it!  You can purchase the image or you can join her on Patreon and get this and so much more!  Read all about it on her blog post.

For my card, I printed the image out in the 3x5 size and then colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut the image.  The background is a piece of glossy paper that I did the polished stone technique on with purple and pink alcohol inks and silver reinker.  The lace is a pretty light green in real life and there are a few iridescent sequins sprinkled on for a fun touch.    The Allium is popped up on foam tape for dimension and is accented with a Stardust and Signo White Gel pen.
This is another of the images that I printed out as a 3x5 image, however this time I did not fussy cut it. I stamped a great Torn Text backgound stamp over.  Then, I colored the stems and flower outlines with Copic markers.

I then colored the flowers on a second printed image and fussy cut those and added them to the image with glue dots.  This just adds a touch of dimension and is much quicker than cutting out the entire image.

I again accented the image with a Signo white gel pen and a Stardust pen.  I love how the sentiment looks as if it is tied to the stem of the bloom.

I am so happy to be able to share more Bloom Arts flowers....I just love creating with them!
Gives one a touch of spring fever!!!

Leave a Little Sparkle Wherever You Go!

Hello!  My, it's been a month since I posted...this time of year always gets me.....and life has been busy....but I've missed sharing and will get back to it!  Today's post is for Riley and Co and This card has to be my favorite!   I used Shopping Bag Sophie as my focal image.

She is cute and all as she is....but now that we have the Dress Up Riley collections, how can I not dress her up?  She has just been on a shopping spree and things are strewn all over..love the springy collection that she has been shopping....all right out of my scrap bin!

The card is hand-stitched with some shiny embossing floss that I picked up at a thrift store....love it!
The second card features the Car Riley image that I colored up and fussy cut.  Leave a Little Sparkle is a great new image from this release.  I just had to glitter the word sparkle as well as Riley's scarf!  Everything on this card shimmers...such fun!
Finally, Clown car Riley is such a cute image and a hoot to color!  I paired it up with a scrap paper and some gems and sequins and a touch of paper embroidery for an explosion of fun!  The Happy Birthday is part of the How Do I Like My Eggs sentiment.

I'd love to hear which card you like the best of the trio!

Riley and Co Designer Highlight - Coaster Box

Hello there!  Today's Designer Highlight features Michelle Pearson ~ Inspiration Blooms

I have made stamping my hobby for over 20 years!  I love to color and cut and create all sorts of cards from flowery to fun.  I dabble with paper embroidery and Zentangle, and my newest fun is incorporating stamping into my planner.  Why not make the mundane fun?    I have worked on a variety of design teams and teach workshops in my home. Stamping is cheaper than therapy!

I live with my husband, son and daughter in a small Wisconsin town.  When I'm not stamping I love to putter in my flower beds, canning/freezing food and spend time with my family.  I am an Lilla Rose Stylist and enjoy sharing hair accessories made with music wire at craft/vendor shows and at home boutiques!
My project today started out to be a coaster box with each side decorated for a month of the year...however if a banner is more your thing...just make each coaster and time them together to form a banner.  I have made five months of the year here starting with December.
December is the first month I made using the new Dress Up Rileys sets and dies.  Details on this month's tile feature paper piecing for the skiis and winter apparel.  A torn edge makes for a perfect ski hill!

January's tile is one of my favorites as I got to make a fun holiday sweater and a fancy cocoa mug by stamping strategically onto designer paper!  I hit the snowflakes on the embossing folder with a white ink pad to make them pop just a bit.  Again...a torn edge is the perfect snowy base for Riley!

February's tile is sweet with candy hearts stamped in pink ink....just perfectly mimicing conversation hearts so popular this time of year!

March's tile features a fun glittered background I made.  And the conversation hearts were so cute in February, why not have some conversation shamrocks?

For April, I paired the sweater with the jumper and irish hat to make a sweet little outfit!  I cut an element from the paper to adorn the sweater.
I will be completing the year as new sets are released....and you can take a peek at these in the Riley and Co booths this year in the form of a banner!!
Stamps:

Here are a few peeks of other creations I have made featuring Riley and Co images.
I love pairing papers with images and this one just makes me happy!
Stamps used:  Mushroom Lane Library

This card was just so fun with the tissue tape that mimics the mummy.
Stamps used:  Mummy Riley and a Funny Bones Sentiment.

This is a fun shaker card.  I stamped the diamond onto acetate and colored the back with Copic Markers before fussy cutting and adding to the shaker box!

Another favorite Mushroom Lane image Winter House.  I love the fussy cutting and dimension on this card!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my Riley and Co work!  I hope you found something to inspire you!
