Altered Decor

It's been a bit since I've had something to upload. This is for last Friday's Challenge over at Embellish-It Scrapbooking. I'm running late....but thought I'd share the project I made.
The letter is paper mache. I covered it with papers from BasicGrey's Boxer collection, Sandylion and The Paper Patch. I faux stitched each piece and then sanded the edges...looks just like well-loved jeans!

I was looking for a 3d embellishment that was not a flower for my son's initial....and came up with these 5 pointed stars. Check out the directions here.

The rub-ons are from BasicGrey, Makine Memories and others. The bottle cap alphabet was a gift from a secret sister. I'm not sure of the source of the star and screw brads. The chipboard stickers are from BasicGrey's Boxer Collection.

Thanks for stopping by....and feel free to join our challenge...I'd love to see what you make!!

Crisp Fall Air

Hard to believe how fast summer has flown. Today was hot and sticky...a perfect day for a pool party for my son and a friend. Tonight when I walked out to water some flowers it was cool already....and *refreshing!* Not my favorite time of year...I hate to see things dying...but it ushers in *stamping season* for me, so I'm looking forward to that!

This card uses the *scraps* of a sticker sheet. I colored the part where the detailed stickers was removed with my alcohol markers....funky!

Friday Challenge #3

It's Friday, August 15th and time for our third Friday Challenge at Embellish-It Scrapbooking: Basically Beautiful Supply Challenge! This week's hostess is Suzy.

Her Challenge: Make a card, scrap layout or altered art project using BasicGrey paper that has been cut following the design shape of the pattern in the paper.
For example, if you use a floral patterned paper, cut one of the flowers in the design of the paper to use on your work. You can put that flower on the patterned paper or cardstock flat, or pop it up with dimensionals.

If you do not have any BasicGrey paper that has a shape large or distinct enough for you to cut out, no worries! Just use the paper with a punch or scissors to cut your own shape then. The whole point is to have fun The only rules are that something on your work must be cut from BasicGrey paper, and it must be made new for this challenge.

Have fun and be sure to use the code FC3 when you upload your work to the gallery so we can see all of your fun submissions!

Tea Pot Challenge #1

I'm a few weeks late on this challenge....but I wanted to play anyway!! Here is the Tea Pot that we used for inspiration for our cards:

Check out the challenge here and see what all of the others did with this!

I did tea bag folding, the kite fold with a little twist. I punched the stamped square by Stamp Yourself Silly out with the pink Marvy Scalloped Square Punch and then folded. The corner punch is by EK Success and is higlighted a bit with a white gel pen and then the flowers are popped up with foam tape. I used a vintage button layered on cardstock for the center of the medallion. Thanks Cindy for the fun challenge!

Live, Dance, Laugh

This card emptied out my scrap bag of LilyKate Designer paper by Basic Grey. I cut out all of the flowers that were left and arranged them in a new design. The verse is by Inky Antics. The Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch is across the top of the card. The base layer is Chocolate Chip by SU! and the green layer is River Rock. Here are a few flowers from our vacation last week:

Lady Lizzie's Handbag

This started out a tri-fold card....and morphed into a little handbag card that would be perfect to tuck some images into, some tea, some seeds or some other fun little goodie. Stamps are by Lizzie Anne Designs. The cardstock is SU!'s black and the new in color red. The green scalloped panel is from Archiver's. I hand stitched around the panels. The flower is cut out and the centers of each petal are also cut out. The gold flower is a brad. I stamped a second flower and cut it slightly smaller, layering it under the main flower. The flower petals are curled upwards, so there is quite a bit of dimension. From the sides, the lower flower appears to be leaves as well. The ribbon is vintage ribbon with wire, so it holds it's shape nicely. The little black metal dots are from JoAnn Fabrics. The black scallop punch is the pink one from Marvy.
I colored the flower with Copics. R29 Lipstick Red and R39 Garnet. I used the 0 Colorless Blender to push the color from the petal tips towards the center of the flower.
I used SU!'s Word Window Punch to make little sides to my purse to hold in the little goodies. They graduate in size so the purse *opens* a bit.

Cuttlebugged Pillow Box and a WINNER!

Thank you to Gail who played along to win Blog Candy....I'll be sending you a package out tomorrow!

This little pillow box got squished through the cuttlebug folder thanks to Cindy (Mothermark) who recently ran acetate through her folder. While she didn't run her little box through the folder....I did! What a fun way to dress up these little pillowboxes!! I'm quite sure this won't be the last time I do this! I probably will embellish my box a little next time....but the little ribbon spool is so cheery peeking out of the box that this time I left it plain. The image was sent to me by Alana. I love it. I simply added some bling and it will be a perfect little card to stick a gift card into.

Embellish-It Online Design Team Gallery Opening!

It's August 5th and the EIO Design Team Gallery is open for veiwing! Come see what the new design team has been busy creating....with the variety of projects and styles, there is surely something that will inspire you!

This project was done as part of a one on one swap with Debbie Fisher. We exchanged a card, candy holder and a pair of socks. The image on the card is by Whipper Snapper and is colored with Copic Markers. The paper is by Basic Grey from their Archaic Collection. I glued twine onto the designer paper for some added texture. The sentiment stamps are from doodlebug designs.

The takeout box I found at Michaels and it is filled with Dove Dark Chocolate...what's not to love about that!! I took it apart and covered it with paper from Basic Grey's Archaic Collection. The Hot Dog tag is a rub-on from Basic Grey which I colored with my Copic Markers. I layered it on a scalloped punch from SU!

The medallion on top of the box is the SU punch which I embellished. I drew lines skipping six scallops repeatedly, making the star. I colored the star with copic markers and then added the glitter dot from Dress It Up!

Here is the swap I received from Debbie....and the chocolate is *long* gone! Today is a magic mail for one lucky visitor! All you have to do is visit the EIO DT Gallery and leave at least one comment. Post back here that you did so and which project you commented on....I will pick one lucky player and send you a card and and a little gift. I will pick a winner on Sunday. Good Luck!!
