Digital Tuesday Challenge 52 ~ Getting Scrappy!

Welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge! This week's theme is called SCRAP IT! We're asking you to dig deep into your pile of paper scraps and put them to good use. You can use one or several and you can be as creative as you like. Make your own embellisments, paper piece your image, mix or match, the sky is the limit on this one.

I'm using another gorgeous pre-colored pink rose from Fred, She Said Designs. My first scrap is the chunk of Happy Birthday sheet music design paper...popped right out of my scrap drawer at me....I like that the words to the song show so nicely and I did nothing but take it out of the drawer and pop it on my card....SCORE!

I used some Martha Stewart punches....edge punch is lined with some coordinating pink paper...another scrap! I didn't punch out any of the other pieces for this project, or even create the embossed background....can you say scraps on my desk?! I love challenges like this that just pop together so easily! .....maybe I should play about 566 more times and my desk will be clean!!

Fred, She Said Spring Challenge!

The challenge for this month at Fred, She Said Design's Challenge Blog is SPRING!
In March we leave Old Man Winter behind so let's create a VERY SPRING-Y project,

This card uses a beautiful pre-colored rose instead of a springy flower....but pink and green and white are spring-y colors anyway!! I LOVE this awesome piercing template....it really dresses up Stampin Up!'s Top Note Die! ANYTHING layered on a Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder is beautiful! Card is topped off with a few Martha Stewart butterfly punches and pearls! Thinking of you is by Paper Inspirations.

Iris ~ The Rubber Cafe

I have to say that an iris is one of my favorite flowers. They are so gorgeous, such an amazing flower! Have many varieties, and though I love purple, the ones I really love are the big yellow ones!

I was happy to see the iris stamp tucked in my design team kit from Melissa...and decided to make my iris yellow! I used Copic Markers (Y21, Y11, YG67, YG17, YG25) and airbrushed my background with YG00.

The designer paper is a digi freebie from Fred, She Said Designs. This is a perfect backdrop for floral images!!

I hope you've enjoyed a peek of spring....I see my iris are popping up and it won't be long until I can enjoy them in nature!

Having Fun with Studio 313!

I've had some busy weeks of late...but I've enjoyed some time in my stampin' studio! This is a new image from Studio 313 Exclusive Creations, Shawne will be opening her new digital store soon! This image was so fun to play with! For the first card I turned the young man into a silhouette with my Copic Special Black (110) marker. I printed this image on matte photo paper, so the inks just pop. I cut apart another image so I could use it as a loose mask. Very striking! For this card I printed the image on acetate and clear embossed it. I used the Glitter and Acetate technique to apply Art Institute Glitters to the back of the image. I printed my young man on the matte photo paper, cut him out and mounted him on foam tape. I like how the glitter catches the light, a bit like water might. The photo corners on this card are double-layered with foam tape, smaller corner over larger corner. A fun embellishment that is easy to mail!

This card combines the silhouette technique with the glitter and acetate technique. The twist on it is that I glittered the front side of the image....so I was able to reverse it! This mutes the image lines a bit and gives it a bit of an arty feel.

Duncan Hines Birthday Challenge

Hi, and welcome to another great Friday Challenge!! This week is all about Duncan Hines. March 26, 1880 was the birth of Duncan Hines. Yes, THE Duncan Hines, of the cake/baking empire. In honor of his birthday, let's create a layout, card, mini album, packaging or alterable with a cake, cupcake, frosting, sprinkles or anything cake-related on it. If you create packaging, for example, you could create a package decorating a cake baking gift set. Anything goes, just have fun!

For this challenge, I used the digital kit from Scrappin Doodles that is available at Embellish-Online.com. The images in the kit are pre-colored, so if you need a quick birthday card or don't care to color, this is the way to go!!

I cut out two of the elements in the kit, embellished them with Spica Glitter Pens and popped them up on foam tape. I used Nestabilities to frame my images and sentiment. The base cardstock is the back of a sheet from American Craft's Letterbox Collection...gotta love the back sides...they offer a wide array of coordinating colors for every project!

My creation this week is a card....they are my favorite thing to make. I love to cut, you will know if you've visited my blog much! Tracey is ushering spring in with some gorgeous floral images....and though I do not like Lilies of the Valley in my garden...(they take over!), I do love the paper version! I colored my image with copic markers YG17, YG25, YG03, YG00, B34 and B41. I cut it out and layered it some blue papers from my scrap drawer....a simple card that really pops the image beautifully.

This card is so cheery! We have just enjoyed a week of wonderful spring weather....it's been busy with company and cooking and the first bike ride of the year! I've been busy in the stamp room too...and will have lots to share next week!

This little darling is by Stampavie, and these images are so fun to color with Copic Markers...so many colors to choose from! You'll want to check out all of the fun new Stampavie images available at Embellish-Online.com. I will be sharing some of the new images soon!

The colors in the new American Craft Dear Lizzy line are so perfect for spring with just a touch of glitter for fun! The buttons are clear with glitter imbedded in them....so cute!! I also tucked a fabric covered brad from American Crafts into the flower....it has white detailing that looks like it's a rub-on....so quick and cute!!

The flower is a digital image from Fred She Said designs....I keep a box of cut out flowers handy all the time....they come in so many pre-colored hues....perfect for any project!

My card has a bit 'o green in it....perfect card for my ds's birthday! I used a digital image by Scrappin Doodles that I rec'd from Embellish-Online.com. This comes from a kit called Lil Pups.
This set is a must if you have little boys.....tons of the cutest pups evah!

The papers are from my scrap bin....the little tags are from Making Memories! Thanks for taking a peek! Today is my little fellow's 8th birthday.....where does time go?!

Embellish-Online Pink and Brown Challenge!

Friday's challenge at Embellish-Online.com was a color challenge this week. Kim picked the colors pink and brown.

I paired up a bunch of goodies from the store to make a sweet birthday card! I used the reverse side of American Craft Blissful Bunny designer paper for my brown card base. The pink designer paper is American Craft's Warm Wishes. The cupcake image is from a Scrappin' Doodles digital kit called the Cupcake Collection which is available in the digital shoppe. I carefully cut out the cupcake and popped it up on foam tape for dimension.

I used some sentiments from an Inkakinkadoo acrylic set for this card, as well as a Martha Stewart edge punch. Thanks for taking a peek!

I've been busy in the kitchen over the weekend with my son's birthday. Looking forward to getting lots of cards together and shared here soon! Sometimes life happens and then stamping doesn't!!

My card features another gorgeous pre-colored image from Fred, She Said Designs. I cut it out and popped it up on foam for some added dimension. The piercing is from a Lasting Impressions template....just love the loopy design.....looks like butterfly trails to me!

For my card I used American Craft's Letterbox Collection's Compliments designer paper. I used two Scrappin Doodles Digital Kits which Barb carries at Embellish-Online.com. I used sweet from the Baby Buggy Collection which coordinates perfectly with the cupcake images from the Cupcakes Collection. These are pre-colored images, so you simply can cut them out and use coordinating papers and you're all set!

The punch is the new Scalloped SU! ones...edge and corner....kinda fun, though it took me a bit to get a square the size I wanted!! Guess I need more practice!!

I took on Trudy's challenge....how about SEVENTY-SIX square embellishment stickers?! Whoot!

Scrappin Doodles at Embellish-Online!

Today I'm sharing a few more digital images by Scrappin Doodle that are available at Embellish-Online.com! These little darlin's are so fun to create with....be sure you check them all out here!

I cut out the images and coordinated them with the Pink Paislee Cupid Collection. The postcards work perfectly with these images that I printed out in wallet sizes. I cut out the center of the postcard and layered it on the reverse side of the Cupid Bullseye designer paper.
This card also uses a Pink Paislee Postcard as well as the Pink Paislee's Cupid Collection's Love Potion designer paper. A fun final touch are the Woolies from BasicGrey's Sugar Rush Collection.

Digital Tuesday Challenge 48 ~ Scallops!

Today's challenge on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog is to use scallops! I *love* scallops....they are girly after all!!! This card uses Pink Paislee's Cupid Collection's Postcards. I matted one on a piece of cardstock that has been punched with the new SU! scalloped punch. I love this punch....this is my first run with it! Flowers are by Imaginisce; Pocket Full of Posies and the one inch version.
