Handsome Homer....

Here is FF0164 Homer The Raven for Prickley Pear Stamps...this time I combined him with some fun paper from my scrap bin.

I framed him in the new HH0140 Spiderweb ATC image, which I stamped on designer paper and then distressed with Frayed Burlap, Peeled Paint and Picket Fence Distress Stains.  This gave me a slightly muted, spooky effect.

The swirls are cut from the new D039 Spiderweb Gate die and the sentiment is the new EE0161 Brewing Up A Batch image.

Some Odd Girl Birthday Ensemble

mp 9.27.13.3
Hi there! It's MarkerPop on my today with a fun little birthday ensemble I worked up for my daughter's birthday next month! I decided to work with the Some Odd Girl set Owl Days! mp 9.26.13.2
Some of the supplies I gathered up...Washi Tape of course....and some toilet paper tubes. My kids had a hoot emptying off 2 rolls for me! Thankfully there wasn't much left on them...but the inside of my house got papered! *wink!*
 mp 9.26.13.1
Then I colored up this fun troupe of owls....how sweet are they in their various shades of color?! mp 9.26.13.3
You might say I used a pile of Copic markers!! mp 9.27.13.4
I made up some napkin rings with the toilet paper rolls... I got 3 per roll. I covered the rolls with 3 strips of Washi Tape and then added an owl over the seam of the tape. I tied some sheer ribbon around the ring to give each plate presentation a bit of feminine fluff! mp 9.27.13.1
I added some of the owls to some ribbon and oval die cuts to make a fun hanging centerpiece over the table.
 mp 9.27.13.2
Each ribbon is a different length and the owls hang at varying heights. mp 9.27.13.5
Finally here is a card I made up for her, pairing up the images with papers from Theresa Collins Family Stories collection.

Do you make birthday ensembles for your celebrations?! I'd love to see your creativity!

Today I'd like to introduce you to FF0164 Homer the Raven!  He lives at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

Wild Rose Studio - Elsie With Mouse

  mp 9.18.13.2
I have a card for MarkerPop using a cute little Wild Rose Studio image called Elsie and Mouse. I paired these cuties up with My Mind's Eye's Tangerine collection from The Sweetest Thing. mp 9.18.13.3
For a bit of fun I fussy cut some of the flowers from the designer paper and popped them up with foam tape!
 mp 9.18.13.4
Overlap the cut out flowers just a titch over your main image and it makes it look more balanced. mp 9.18.13.1
Here are the Copic Markers I used to color my image in a fall color scheme.

Organizing My Prickley Pear Collection...

It's finally Thursday!  The weekend won't be long behind!  Don't know about you, but this time of year makes me want to hole up in my stamping studio and either organize or create!

This week the organizing had to happen...and I thought I'd give you a peek at how I organized all of my Prickley Pear images and dies!

I should have taken the photo of the rubber before I stuck it all in my binders, but I didn't think fast enough!   I have my current collection in 3 large white 3-ring binders.

They are all foam mounted and then organized by them in each binder.
As you can see, I'm not overly picky about how clean my stamps are...I know they work even with a bit of black staining on them!
Some pages are mixed theme, but that is the beauty of a binder system, you can expand any time!
My clear sets are organized in a CD organizer that I laid on it's back.  There are two prefect compartments that will hold a ton of the clear sets.  For now I have embossing folders on the other half...but they can be moved out!

I do not care for the packaging that sticks shut after you put the sets away, so I simply removed the liner and the clear sets and slip them into small clear card protectors and then store them in this case.  They are much easier to slip in and out when I'm on a stamping spree!
The dies I have in these sweet little two ring binder boxes that snap shut.  I cut 8 1/2 x 11 magnet sheets down and then taped cardboard on the back of each sheet.  I added the cardboard because these magnets are so strong that they stuck together and that caused a bit of angst for me since when I'd separate my pages some of the dies would pop loose!  The cardboard prevents the pages from sticking together and the magnets are strong enough to keep my dies in place.
Here is a peek at one page of my binder box.
and another!  Each of these boxes will hold about 8-10 pages of dies I'm thinking...I have 6 pages in another die binder filled and there are room for several more!

We would love to see how YOU organize your Prickley Pear stamps and dies!  I know it's a never ending process for me to keep organized...but for now, this works for me!

Happy Mail!

Happy Mail! I just had to grab up this Whiff of Joy image when I saw it hit the MarkerPOP store! I get lots of *Happy Mail* at my house...my kids always tell me I have it when I get some package in the mail!

SPEAKING OF WHICH....THE WINNER FOR THE BLOG CANDY FOR MY INKY ANTICS BEAUTIFUL BORDERS SET IS:  CHILLIN WITH QUILLIN!  email me with your info...and we will get you some HAPPY MAIL of your own! :)

I colored my image with Copic Markers: T4, T2, C1, BV000, G20, YR24, Y21, Y32, E51, E42, E41, E02, E00.
Check out the fun polka dots on her dress! ...and that bakers twine is a simple and fun embellishment on the card!

Another fun thing to try on your cards is to just randomly cut shapes. This chick needed some sky..so I cut out some free form clouds and hit their edges with a bit of sandpaper. The heart was a punch, but I hit the edges of that with sand paper too...and added a touch of red glitter to the heart! Papers come from Authentique's Delightful Bundle!

So tell me...do you get Happy Mail at your house?!

Try it Different Tinker - Inky Antics

My cards are up on the Inky Antics blog today...take a peek!  Don't forget there is blog candy from last week's Tuesday post...and only a little while left to through your hat into the ring for your chance to win!

*************************************

You've seen those adorable knobby-kneed girls from our Hattie Lace collection, right? If not, today will be a great introduction!

Michelle Pearson created two cards using 11181MC Birthday Wishes Clear Set (drawn by artist Hattie Lace):

Both cards feature a cheery yellow and light blue color scheme, with the Tinker angel image (0645H in wood mounted).

The first is a simple, lovely design in a classic layout:

The saying is called Wished All That, and it's part of the clear set or available as 0576E in wood mounted. How perfect not only for birthdays but all kinds of celebrations!

My favorite aspect, though, is one that's hard to see in a static photo. Yep, it's a hidden Action Wobbles spring, so Tinker can "fly" back and forth on the card:

Michelle's second card also has movement, in the form of a shaker frame filled with sparkly angel dust (also known as Diamond Dust):

The Clear Cardstock front keeps everything from falling out:

By the way, you've still got today to enter our BLOG CANDY drawing from last Tuesday's "Try It Different" post, if you haven't yet done so already. We're giving away two 11102SC Fabulous Flowers Clear Sets on the Inky blog, and Michelle Pearson is giving away one 11103SC Beautiful Borders Clear Set on her blog...so there are lots of prizes to be had.

Good luck, and I hope you have a heavenly day, Inky friends!

Roasting Marshmallows!

Ooh, I just love this darling image from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps called GG0170 Roasting Marshmallows!

I stamped her up and colored her with Copic markers: Y21, YR23, YG95, YG93, E42, E02, E00, R29, YR16, Y38.

I glitzed up her candle and dress with some Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Gel Paint (frost) for a bit of sparkle texture.  The embossing folder is Couture Creations' Powder Puff and is embossed on some metallic blue cardstock for a subtle sheen.

I added the D034 Floral Boarder Die along the edge and some gems for added sparkle!  I just love the light airy scheme of this card....

S'more Baby Cards!

Yes, I've had baby cards on my brain...and I have two more that I did up with images from Endless Creations!
Check out the cute DD53 KB's Baby Giraffe and the baby giraffe!  I stamped the images out on designer paper and then again on white paper.  I colored them with Copic Markers and fussy cut the main image.  That is the beauty of stamping on the designer paper...you don't have to cut out those little dealy-bobs on top of their head! *wink!*

Papers are from a Deja Views Baby Boy collection by Sharon Ann.

Oh, Baby!

Today I have a fun baby card using Endless Creations images!  I love the sweet little baby food jars...those always intrigued me...I hated tossing them out...they were just so cute!  I think I only have one in use...and maybe that one is even gone now!

I used some designer paper by Darcie's Papers and added some paper embroidery to coordinate with my jars of veggies which I colored with Copic Markers.

Candi dots are my only other embellishment.

Hydrangea Bouquets

Yipee!  Today at long last I have some cards for Fred, She Said Digital Designs!    The hydrangeas are blooming in the yard, and these babies have been blooming on my desk for quite some time!
The Hydrangea Bouquet image comes in black and white as well as colored versions.  I chose to to do my own coloring on these images and did them up with Copic Markers.
I used a Couture Creations Exotic embossing folder from CropStop for my backgrounds on all three cards.

I used some Art Anthology Frost Dimensional Gel Paint on my vases.  I *dobbed* it on for a more dimensional antique glass effect!

The sentiments are from the Sentimental Flower Doodledallion set.  I punched out the images and then colored the frames with coordinating colors of Copic Markers.

Lots has been going on in the store while I was having a hectic summer....I can't wait to dig in and play with all of the fun stuff Tracey-Lynn has been adding to the store!

One Image, Three Ways!

mp 9.1.13.5
Hello there!  Hope you all are having a relaxing weekend! I know we are enjoying some time tying up the loose ends before the school year starts!

Today's post is for MarkerPOP and my tip for you is to vary the ways you color your images, it will help you stretch your collection! I decided to color up LaLa Land Crafts' image Christmas Lantern Marci, and in my usual way, I couldn't decide what color her hair should be...so I decided to color up three images! Not only is this fun to see how they will look in the various hair colors....but it is also a way to quickly create a few cards since you already have all of your supplies out and at hand!

mp 9.1.13.6
I decided to further challenge myself by coloring with a different style on each of my girls...and that also changes the look of the image! For my first card I tried a totally different style of coloring for me! I was aiming for a more tweedy effect for her jacket. I laid down the lightest value of the blue and then added my shading with dots of the darker colors. at the end of my coloring I used the lightest value of the blue to blend the shaded areas slightly and the colorless blender to shade the lighter areas a bit. What do you think?!
 mp 9.1.13.3
My second card features my favored way to color, with the flicking technique This is more of a streaky effect, but I seem to do it a lot and really think it is pretty! Notice her furry cuffs on her coat on this one!
 mp 9.1.13.4
And finally here is the third card I did and I worked to blend the streaks out a bit more for a smoother overall look.

mp 9.1.13.1
And here again, notice that on all three of these cards I varied my shading on the ruffles...each is cute in their own way!
 mp 9.1.13.2
Did you see the glass panels of my lanterns and the buttons on her coat?! They have been touched up with a bit of Art Anthology's Frost Dimensional Gel Paint. I purposely added it in dobs with a paintbrush to resemble frosty bumpy glass!

Supplies:LaLaLand Crafts - Christmas Lantern Marci
Copic Markers:  B97, B95, B93, B91, R85, R83, R81, E02, E00, R02
brown hair:  E59, E57, E55, E50  blonde hair:  E35, YR24, Y21  black hair 110, W7, W5, W3
Cheery Lynn Dies
Art Anthology Dimensional Gel Paint - FROST
