A Sprinkle of Flowers!
Hello again! Today I have another very special card to share with you. It's created with one of the images available in a unique floral digital stamp set being sold by Polka Dot Orchard. This lovely set is part of a fundraiser to help the Pittmans during their difficult medical ordeal. (Larissa Pittman is one of our crafty friends who blogs at Muffins and Lace.)
We are here to help one of our own. Larissa Collins Pittman is a cherished part of our crafty family. Her bio is inspiring when you look and see how many amazing companies she has worked with, sharing her time, energy, and love of this incredible crafty journey. And whether you realize it or not you have been enjoying her work for years, seeing her projects for so many of the companies we all love! Larissa has been facing her own health issues. Gary, her husband, has been a police officer for over twenty years. He was in the process of trying to find work closer to home so that he could take care of her, when his own medical needs began to surface. He has had many hospital stays, lots of ups and downs, astronomical medical bills, and is still battling, every day, to just be able to be at home and try to regain his health. They are out of money, yet the medical bills continue to mount. Please help us to help them!

For this technique, you print the digital image on Transparency Film for printers. I have an inkjet, so I used one for Ink Jet Printers from 3M (CG3480).
Once printed out, let the image dry. Then I apply Art Glitter's Designer Dries Clear Adhesive with the metal tip. You want to apply a thin layer of glue that covers the entire area you want glittered. Try not to touch the printed image as it can move the printer ink, or ink the opposite side of the transparency.
I start with the darker colors first. In this case, I did the leaves first and covered it with Art Institute's Ultra Fine 198. Green Briar Transparent Glitter and tap off excess. If you work carefully, you can glue up the next darker colored sections, just be careful not to bump your wet glittered leaves! I added 8. French Kiss glitter to the darker portions of the flower. Again, tap off excess glitter and then proceed to the remaining sections if you can be really careful! I added 268. Pink Smoothy glitter, tapped off excess and then set aside to dry.
Hint: I set my acetate piece on top of my Ott Lite where it is warm and let it dry for a few hours.
Once the glue is dry, it will no longer look milky, but will be clear and glittery. Then you can trim the image down to size leaving a narrow border.
I used some more of the fun designer paper and silver cardstock for my card. Some silver twine I tied into a bow and then used tape to poof the ribbon tails out. The sentiment popped up on foam tape hides them nicely.
