Two More!

I'm in that cleaning off my desk mode....and I've got the last of the The Rubber Cafe Eagle Petroglyph images I stamped here! For the first card I did the eagle with the acetate and glitter technique. I stamped the image on acetate. Since it was on acetate I was able to apply the glue to the stamped side of the image and reverse his direction....is that cool or what?! I use Art Institute Glitter and their clear glue for this technique. The colors I used were:
  • 189 Pearl Ultrafine Pearlescent (white)
  • 154 Twig Ultrafine Opaque (dark brown of eagle)
  • 208 Fauna Ultrafine Transparent (rock)
  • 276 Salmon Ultrafine Transparent (beak)

I apply the colors from lightest to dark, allowing the image to dry in between contrasting colors. Then, once dry I run the image through the Xyron sticker machine. I rub the backside of the sticker paper with my bone folder to push the glue into the dried glittered surface. It should then release easily and you can apply it to the designer paper.

The cardstock is Core'dinations and the dark panel was run through the Distressed Strip Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and then sanded. This paper is fun to sand and distress since the core color pops out and adds a fun contrast.

The circle was punched from SU!'s Always Artichoke cardstock, run through the cuttlebug, faux stitched, distressed and inked with SU!'s Chocolate Chip ink. The HB are from Cuttlebug's Tag Sale Alphabet. I hand lettered the happy birthday on them.

This card also is the Eagle Petroglyph Stamp from The Rubber Cafe. I stamped the image 8 times and then cut a 1 1/4 inch square from them. I folded them all into a kite shape making sure to orient them all the same. When putting into the medallion I noticed the flower shape pop out at me. I accented the lower beak of the eagle with a Melon At You Spica Glitter Pen for my leaves. I colored the area under his beak with an Orange At You Spica Glitter Pen. I put eyelets into the *eyes* of the eagle. This is the first time I've ever tried faux stitching on my medallion itself...I may have to try that again!

Thanks for popping by....Oct 5th the opening of the Embellish-Online Design Team Gallery is right around the corner.....you might want to come back! ....just sayin'.....
