Winter Wonder

I did this card for the challenge over at Paper Craft Planet, Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas. I had the perfect images from The Rubber Cafe. I used SU!'s Soft Sky, faux stitched and distressed it. The designer paper is BasicGrey's Figgy Collection. The brown piece was a scrap with a circle cut out of it that I ran through the Cuttlebug Allegro Embossing Folder and sanded lightly. The dove was stamped on white cardstock, highlighted with a pale blue copic marker and then the entire dove is traced with a clear Spica Glitter Pen for added sparkle and shine. The ricrac was a RAK from a blogging sister....I loved that stuff Lori! I have about 2 inches of it left, and it is in my ribbon scraps for a home on a card someday!! The button is vintage, the ribbon is Martha Stewart. Winter Wonder has been traced with a Turquoise Spica Glitter Pen. Thanks for taking a peek!

Leftover Wishes....

Our Friday Challenge at http://www.embellish-online.com/ was to use *leftovers* on our cards. Crafty things that were trash-bound. My original idea was to make a card using up paper and ribbon scraps until I had a little mini-crafty disaster on my desk! It was about 2am and I was in a hurry...trying to get one last card done and get to bed. I quite un-handily dumped my Art Institute Pearlescent glitter right into my SU! heat and stick powder. Let me tell you, that doesn't work out so well! I really hate throwing stuff away.....so then I decided to turn it into some snow. My new snow is both gritty and glittery....sorta like real snow in real life.

Card base is SU!'s Always Artichoke, designer paper is BasicGrey's Wassail collection. I stamped SU!'s Garden Snowman right onto the snowflake paper and colored the image with the Copic Markers. I doodled around the edge of the image and then applied my *leftover* snow to the edge with Diamond Glaze. Winter Wonder is by http://www.therubbercafe.com/ and is stamped in BasicGrey's Journal Block. For the snowflake medallion, I stamped the SU! Snowflake with white stazon on acetate and cut it out. It is layered on a pierced circle punch and topped off with a snowflake from Dress It Up! Faux stitching and sanding finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by....I hope you are having a great Thanksgiving weekend!

Wassail Snowman

Ok, our *measurable snow* will be gone by tomorrow....but not in my stamp room! Base Paper is Always Artichoke (SU!), Designer Paper is BasicGrey's Wassail, scalloped piece is the Riding Hood Red (SU!). The image is by Penny Black, colored with Copics. I pierced the scalloped piece and stitched with ecru thread, covering the hole with a little adhesive gem for some bling! The felt piece is the Top Note Die (SU/Sizzex. Flowers by Prima. Snowflakes and glitter dot by Dress It Up! Ribbon is True Thyme (SU!)

Thanks for stopping by!!

First Measurable Snowfall

We had our first measurable snowfall today...and my son was up and itching to shovel before he was off to school! This image is by Whipper Snapper and is another $1.00 wonder I picked up! Here are the card details: Night of Navy (SU!) base cardstock. Bashful Blue (SU!) cardstock is run through the Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder. I hit this one with the white Memories Dye Inkpad for some contrast. The frame is made with a corner punch (the one I *borrowed* from my mom!)...and then I turned it into a shaker card. The snow is Vintage Glass Glitter by Barbara Trombley...it's actually glass shards! It's a fun change from glitter. Image is colored with Copic Markers. Ribbon is by Martha Stewart, Snowflake is by Making Memories...I ran it through the Xyron sticker machine and then covered it with Art Institute's Pearl, Pearlescent Ultrafine Glitter.

Candy!

I picked this fun Whipper Snapper image up for $1.00....and it was fun to color up with copics. I added a touch of BG000 Pale Aqua to the vase and then went over the vase and each candy stick with Diamond Glaze. Base layer is black, the pink layer is SU!'s Rose Red that has been run through the Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder. I ran a white Memories Dye Inkpad over the embossing to make the snowflakes *pop* and faux stitched it to the base layer. The scalloped piece is Martha Stewart's Doily Edge punch and it was a scrap in my *too pretty to toss* container. I embellished it with some white adhesive pearls. The snowflake is also a Martha Stewart punch, I use some specialty pearlescent papers with this punch.

Just want to let you know too that I blog for www.embellish-online, and we are offering up some blog candy this week. Check out this blog post to see what you need to do to enter. Good Luck!

Vintage Moon Pizza Box

This is a gift set I did for a friend. The card was posted previously in this blog...but this is the little pizza box that went with it. Cardstocks are Chocolate Chip, Really Rust and Very Vanilla by Stampin' Up! I stamped the Pink Paislee Vintage Moon stamp with the Autumn Leaves Kaleidacolor rainbow dye pad. I cut out the main image and embellished it with an acrylic circle sticker, layered it on torn cork and a antiqued brad. The hello is by stampendous and is stamped on a SU! Word Window punch. I finished it off with some faux stitching.

If you're in the mood for some awesome blog candy....check THIS out!! Check out all her beautiful coloring while you're there too!! Wowza!

Swirled Dove and Floral Heart

This card has been floating around on my desk for a bit here. I saw this awesome tutuorial and had to give it a shot! What a fun new way to use corner punches!!! I punched mine out and embellished it with pearls and black metal dot stickers. The flower portion of each punched image is also popped up on a bit of foam tape for dimension. The Swirled Dove is by http://www.therubbercafe.com/ and has been stamped on acetate and then glittered on the back with Art Institute Glitter. They are layered on some embossed vellum over black cardstock.
The Love medallion is actually the Swirled Love stamp from http://www.therubbercafe.com/ that has been stamped and punched out with a marvy scallop punch on white shrink plastic. I punched 1/4 inch holes for the ribbon, dotted each scallop with a sharpie marker and then shrunk it. I used the dotted swiss Cuttlebug Embossing Folder on the black panel, cut out a 3 1/2 inch circle to insert my punched frame into. I *borrowed* my mom's corner punch...I'm gonna definately try out some more of these!
These pieces have been sitting on my desk for a bit too. I stamped the floral heart by http://www.therubbercafe.com/ onto some printed vellum. I colored it with sharpies and At You Spica Glitter Pens and adhered it to a wood and metal plaque that I found at Michaels. I further embellished the heart with half-pearls in various sizes. The bows are vintage and Martha Stewart. (The heart isn't currently on their new web site...but if you're interested, just email Melissa and tell her you saw it here!)

Winter Wonder

I had so much fun with the warm fuzzy's on the last card that I had to do another! This card features stamps by TheRubberCafe. (The stamps aren't on the new website yet...but if you are interested in them, just email Melissa and ask for them. Tell her you saw them here!) The snowman is stamped on white and is colored with Copic Markers. I inked the edge with a Fresco Medici Marble Chalk Ink Pad and hand doodled similar to the stitching on the snowman. I layered it on dark green designer paper from BasicGrey's Wassail pad that has been distressed and the edges inked with the Fresco Medici Marble Chalk Ink Pad. The red felt has been run through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug Heart Die....I love doing that! I'm *so* needing to get myself some more felt and some more diecuts!

The buttons are vintage tied with some dyed ribbon. The snowflake is Making Memories Chipboard that has been run through the Xyron and then both glittered and flocked. I sprinkled a bit of glitter on and then finished it off with flocking. I did not paint the snowflake white first since I liked the natural look with this paper line. Some other little details...the stitching on the felt heart and Diamond Glaze on the snowman's buttons and hat band.

Friday Challenge on Sunday Night and a WINNER!

Our challenge at Embellish-Online was to add something *warm* to our project. For this card I ran some felt through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug Die and hand stitched it to my card. I ran some Making Memories chipboard snowflakes through my Xyron and then covered them with white flocking. Buttons and yarn make me think *cozy*....and Warm Wishes finish it off. The base paper is from BasicGrey's Wassail, and the Top Note Die is from SU! Thanks for taking a peek! You can see the rest of the *cozy cards* here!

AND...now for my Blog Anniversary WINNER....it's Claudia!!! Thanks to each of you who stopped by...and thanks for a great first year of blogging!

Winter's Coming!

I think this image is by Inky Antics...colored with Copics and glittered with Art Institute glitter.
Image is stamped on white cardstock, colored, cut out and layered on designer paper. (shabby princess collection). I doodled around the image and layered on white cardstock that has been cut with specialty scissors. Certainly Celery panel has been run through the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and layered on black. The ribbon and button are vintage. Snowflake is from Dress It Up! Warm Wishes is by Come Clean Designs.
This image is one we colored at a Copic Workshop I attended. The markers I had to work with were untraditional in color.....so I matched it up with coordinating designer paper, Martha Stewart ribbon and some snowflakes from Dress It Up! The image is accented with At You Spica Glitter Pens. Image has been doodled around. Base cardstock is Baja Breeze by SU!

More Pocket Silhouettes

This card featers 1.5 inchies! I was aiming for a more masucline simple sort of look. I paired up some River Rock cardstock (SU!) with some Core'dinations cardstock, which I ran through the Distressed Stripe Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I sanded it lightly for a look similar to wood.

I stamped the images twice on each 1.5 inchie, using generation stamping on the brown and green tiles. The center medallions is from Baroque Motifs (SU!) set I believe, which I cut out and layered on a 1 1/4 inch circle of River Rock cardstock. The center brad is by Making Memories. The sentiment is by Savvystamps and is stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink inside of a frame from BasicGrey's Journal Block set.

This card was heavily inspired by this one by Valentina9 in the SCS Gallery. I loved the center tile so CASED that element exactly. I also liked the layering of the SU! punches that I found in the gallery.....so used that element as well, adding the piercing, Martha Stewart ribbon and flower to make it my own. The flower is by Prima.

If you're in the mood to be enabled....the sale code at embellish-online.com is GLITTER for 20% off of regular AND sale priced items. The cuttlebug items are 20% off on sale this week....so that'd be 40% off to you! Check it out and tell Barb I sent ya!

Pocket Silhouettes

This week I'm focusing on the Stampin Up! set Pocket Silhouettes. I like the simple feel of this card....stamp is stamped in Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip inks on white cardstock. The base of the card is Night of Navy Cardstock. The Sahara Sand panel has been run through the Cuttlebug with a Swiss Dot strip embossing folder. I scored some lines with my Score-Pal for added interest. The lines bump up and the dots bump down. I like this punch idea....the Large Oval from SU! is the perfect size to nest the Word Window Punch, also by SU!

This card is all done with one little flower stamp. The base of this card is also Night of Navy. On the Soft Sky panel I stamped the flower stamp in Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Night of Navy to form a top and bottom border. The ribbon is some wired ribbon. For the focal panel I stamped the flowers in Night of Navy and then glittered with Art Institute's Ultra Fine Calypso Transparent Glitter. Friend to Friend is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.
Thanks for popping in! Don't forget there are still a few days for BLOG CANDY....check it out!!!

Flowers For You and a WINNER!

Happy Fall! I spent some the weekend without inking up a single stamp! That doesn't happen often!! Friday I spent some time outside with the kids. We raked and they jumped in the leaves. It was such a beautiful day! Saturday found us painting and putting up a new wallpaper border in my daughter's room...she loves it! Today we rested!!
I made this card recently. The base is white, I like using white bases....they lend a crispness to the card. The designer paper is from Sommerst Studio...free stuff from Take Ten I think. Flowers are by prima, ricrac by Walmart, Butterfly Punch by Martha Stewart, gems by Mark Richards. For You is by Serendipity Stamps and Flower Stamp is by SU! To color the flowers I used SU! markers: Certainly Celery, Taken With Teal and Tempting Turqoise. I started with the celery and added some of the darker colors for accents. I layered the stamped panel on white for a very subtle *frame.*

And....for the winner of the RAK...it's Retired Heather!! Sorry I'm slow in posting this.....I've been too busy knocking things of my To Do List this weekend! Email me your address....I'm not sure I still have it Heather! More blog candy coming soon as I close in on my one year bloggervesary and 20,000 hits! Thanks to each of you for stoppin by!
