To Find The Beautiful...

Happy Monday!  Today's card features some Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps' Clearly Beautiful sets:
Flowers and Mini-Butterflies.  I also used the Flowers die and the Mini-Butterflies die.

The B is a Sizzix Bigz Alphabet that I ran through a Sizzix embossing folder.  I kept my card simple, layering it on a piece of subtle designer paper (JoAnn's), which I embellished with a white Signo Gel Pen.

Be sure to stop by the Prickley Pear Blog to check out what the other girls have been up to!
Make it a GREAT day!

Altered Notebook

Happy Saturday!  Sorry I've been quiet this week on the blog....we're in the midst of some village-wide rummage sales...and so my time has been divided!  It felt good to sit down tonight though, and play a bit in the studio!

Exciting news to share with you!  iCopic is changing it's name to MarkerPop!  You can read about what this change will bring to your shopping experience HERE!

For my first MarkerPop project, I altered a Composition Notebook.

I covered the notebook with papers from the Lily Bee Design Head Over Heels Collection.  I added a touch of May Arts Velvet and Lace ribbon, some Prima Marketing Pearls and Wood Buttons from Prima as well.

Sweet Magnolia Tilda With Daisy is colored with the following Copic markers:  G46, G43, E21, E02, T4, T2, E59, E57, YR16, YR15, BG15, BG10.

Thinking Inside of the Box!

Today's post for The Rubber Cafe is a fun one!  I'm sharing three cards with you using the Tea Bag Folding Technique.  The Kite Fold is the simplest Tea Bag Folding fold.

First up, can you tell which TRC stamp I used for these cards?!    I used one stamp and punched a 1 1/4 inch punch and stamped/punched 8 squares.  One hint is to be sure you punch all 8 squares in the same place on the stamped image.
Why you ask?!  Because when you assemble your medallions, you will want them all to be the same so that you get these fabulous designs!

Card 2 uses the same stamp and I just changed which direction I folded the kites for a totally different design!
To fold the kites, you simply decide which corners you want at the top and bottom of your kite.
Then on the back I draw a line from tip to tip.  This helps you line up your edges as you fold them back so you end up with perfect kites every time!

You guessed it, Card 3 uses the same stamp, and a third orientation!  As you can see...the color scheme you decide to go with changes things even more!

Copic Markers used:  110, B0000, B000, B02, BG05, G24, G20, BV000, V15.

Inky Antics' Clearly Fun Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Inky Antics Clearly Fun Blog Hop!  If you are arriving here from Crystal's blog, you are right on track!  If not, be sure to start on  Jovi's blog, so you don't miss a thing!
I used Inky's Clear Cardstock along with the Rose Oval clear set drawn by artist Vicki Schreiner to create my cards.

The blog hop starts today and ends on Sunday, April 22nd at midnight Central time. Please visit each DT members’ blog to view their projects and leave a comment for each designer. The more you comment, the better your chances are to win. (Limit one comment per blog, please). Two people’s names will be drawn at random to receive a surprise Inky prize pack. The winners’ names will be announced on the Inky Antics blog next Monday, so remember to stop back and see if you’ve won.

For the front of my card, I stamped the Rose Oval image with black Stazon ink onto the center of my card.  Then, using Art Institute Glitters and glue on the backside of the image, I colored my image with glitters, starting with the darkest colors first and working towards my lightest colors.  This is called the Glitter and Acetate Technique.
After my glitter was dry, I stamped another image on cardstock and then lined the oval in the inside of the card.

On the inside of my acetate card, I placed the Spellbinders Beaded Oval Die which I stamped with my sentiment, being careful to line it up with my cardfront image.

To hid the adhesive on the beaded oval die, I attached my designer papers to the back of the card.
I finished my card off with a satin ribbon tied in a bow.

For my second card, I changed up the glitter colors and the orientation of my card.  On this one, I added my sentiment with Stazon ink to the front card panel as well, and finished it off with a pearl swirl.

Inside of the card, the oval image is lined with ivory cardstock, and there is another ivory oval on the music panel for your message.  Again, to hide the adhesive, I added some brown cardstock behind the acetate of the back panel.

This is a fun way to share some glitzy glitter without the mess, since it is sandwiched between the acetate and the cardstock!

The April Inky website special is a FREE pack of Clear Cardstock with orders of $40 or more, and the details are on this page:  Your next stop is on Trudy's blog.  Enjoy!

I paired up my image with some Lily Bee Design papers from the Head Over Heels collection.  I did a tad of fussy cutting to make a fun chevron element to *hang* my swing from.  A touch of baker's twine finishes off my card.

I colored my image with Copic Markers:  E49, E47, E44, E43, E59, E57, YG17, YG07, YG03, R39, R37, R32.

I'm a sucker for empty boxes and baskets....they just need to be purtified!!  This one was no exception.

I lined the box with some Creative Imaginations Banana Leaf paper and some Scrap Happy Sheer Glue.

To cover up the product information, I used some 7/8 inch wide Crochet Lace and laced it with some Banana Leaf paper strips.

The inside I wrapped with some Tim Holtz Tissue Tape to finish any uncovered areas.
To top off my project I created this beauty with some Rose Silk ribbon!
Your next stop along the way is Jan's blog.
