Paper Piecing Spotlight for Inky Antics

Several of my cards were featured on the Inky Antics blog this week.  The focus was on paper piecing.  It is a really fun way to color images without coloring them!

I added printed papers to the various elements of this turtle image from 10976MC Flower Turtle Clear Set (drawn by artist Tammy DeYoung), in this charming decorated gift cylinder (aka, a recycled Crystal Light container):

If you click on the photo for a close-up view, you can see how I used three different papers to "color" the image, in addition to the designer paper base.

While critters make wonderful paper-pieced projects, you can also play with other objects, such as the flowers and sun in 11159MC Swirly Sunshine & Flower Clear Set (drawn by artist Trudy Sjolander):

Last but not least, these girls' outfits are perfect for turning paper into "fabric":

For the above card, I used 11023MC Hattie's Girlfriends Clear Set (drawn by artist Hattie Lace).  Hairbows, socks, dressed...all paper pieced!
