Vintage Winter Cards

Back to School for the kiddos today...hard to believe how fast the summer flew by....that is the way of life I think....we will look back one day and wonder where it went!

I have been busy playing with winter cards.  I have some fabulous paper from K&Co called Yuletide Poinsettia.  I love the colors and the ivory, red and green swirls that are debossed and glossy.  I added some paper embroidery with 2 strands of white embroidery floss.  I think there is nothing quite like the touch of hand embroidery to really dress up a card.

The brown swirls on these cards?  They are scraps from dies I have cut.  I just couldn't quite toss those scraps after cutting out dies....and looky here....I have used up quite a few on these few cards!  I love that when I can re-purpose junk!
I have been having much fun playing with some vintage sheet music.  Some that I have acquired from tag sales that has seen it's better days....some from some long neglected piano books...what a fun touch on the page...and the bonus is that it is pre-distressed!!  The large showflake dies on this card are cut from some wallpaper...I did that about 20 years ago!  Just found them the other day...and figured they might as well live on a card!  I think I found them a perfect home!
I wasn't sure about this Tim Holtz snowflake border that I thought I had to have.  It was on it's way out the door...but then the sample I cut landed on this card.  What do you think....is it a keeper?

Fabulous cards Michelle - love all the snowflakes, and I do think that TH border is a keeper. That paper in the first card is stunning.
