Chalk Pop Technique!

Today's card is an explosion of color using The Rubber Cafe's Creative Cafe Kit of the Month; Petticoat Fashion.

The card base is the Lime Pop cardstock and is 5 1/5 x 4 1/4 inches.

To create the flowered panel I used Pebbles Inc Chalk in Basic Brights and Pastels and the Chalk POP technique.

To do this technique I cut a white piece of cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 4 inches.  Then I stamped the solid flowers randomly around the background with Versamark ink, being careful not to overlap them and leaving spaces in between so you can later add leaves.  They will be hard to see, so I recommend a good light source when you are working on this and you can tilt the paper a bit and the flowers will be easier to see.

Next I took a pastel chalk on an applicator and applied it to random flowers.  As soon as you touch a Versamark flower, it will grab the ink and it will be easy to color your entire flower.  Then repeat with a pastel purple color on the rest of the flowers.    Then go through as stamp the leaves and chalk with a pastel green color.

The next step is to add some more detail to the images with the second step stamps in the set.  I stamped each flower with Versamark, being careful to line up the images.   Then I took a pink, purple and green chalk from the brights collection and brushed the images again to add the darker detailing on each image.

When you are finished, wipe your project off with a Swiffer sheet or soft cloth to pick up any stray chalk.  I then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and attached the panel to my card.
