Pair of Prickley Pear Creations!

Today I'm sharing two cards for Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.  I have been enjoying making rosettes and decided to go vintage for my first card.

The sentiment is from the Prickley Pear Clearly Beautiful Flowers set.  The coordinating dies are the Flowers Die and the Scalloped Circle Die.

Other items on this card include Prima Botanical Collection patterned papers, vintage buttons, gold nailheads, and Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three.

For my second card, I used the same stamps and dies.  For my background paper, I used images from the Prickley Pear Clearly Beautiful Spring Scalloped Circles Set stamped in a coordinating inks.

I used strips of coordinating vellum for some visual interest.

CropStop Challenge ~ Lace!

This week our CropStop weekly challenge is to use lace!  I decided to use the paper variety on my card thise week.

The papers from BasicGrey's Out of Print 6x6 pad were lacey in appearance.  Love all the warm neutral tones in this design.  I stamped the dress form from Stamper's Anonymous Haberdasery set with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

For an additional lace touch, I used Martha Stewart's Deep Edge Bangle Chain punch with some shimmery coated ivory cardstock.

For my flower, I punched a 1 1/2 inch circle of cardstock and Scor-Tape.  I made a rosette using the May Arts Sheer Ruffle Edge Ribbon, starting on the outer edge and ending towards the center of the circle.  Since I was adding some large vintage buttons as my accent, I only made two rotations and left the center bare.
For the *leaves* of my rosette flower I used some vintage floss wrappers.  My final touch was a touch of faux stitching.

Don't forget, my blog readers can use this special coupon code to save 10% on your entire CropStop purchase!!

THANKS! Coupon Code CTMP-01 saves my readers 10%!

And last but no least, it was fun to meet up with some of the CropStop Creative Team at CHA last week!   We met up at the Ranger Booth during a Tim Holtz Demo.  Proof is right here in his video clip of the show!  A quick peek of us before we got busy chattering!  My goal is to upload some of the CHA photos I took in my Friday post this week!

Be sure to check out the Crop Stop Challenge each week...there is always a lot of inspiration and fabby prizes to be won!

iCopic Tuesday Tips Featuring La-La Land Crafts

This is one of TWO posts sure to scroll down to see TWO more cards as well as a blog candy offering!  Enjoy!

Hello!  Michelle here with some Tuesday Tips for you!

I'm often asked how I pick the Copic colors I use on my cards, because people just aren't sure what colors to put together.  Well...I let the designer paper pick my Copic colors!   I never start coloring my images until I've made a decision on the papers I will be using.

For today's cards I chose to use papers from Wild Rose Studio's Valetta Garden and Kalahari Dreams Paper Pack.  I chose the designer paper above and then laid it on my Copic Marker Color Chart....a perfectly easy way to pick the perfect colors!  You can see the colors and Spica Glitter Pens I used below:

For my second card, I again chose my designer paper and matched up my Copic Markers and accessories.  I followed the Card Patterns Sketch 125 for this card.
And one final tip on my fussy cutting....turn your paper, not your scissors, as you are cutting.

I loved coloring these adorable images from LaLa Land Crafts:  Roller Skate Marci and Fancy Marci.

Pail of Flowers ~ Designed2Delight!

Happy Tuesday!  It's time for a new Digital Tuesday Challenge...and this week the challenge is *Garden Things with Wings*  Be sure to check out all of the challenge and prize details on our Digital Tuesday Blog!

For my cards this week, I'm using the beautiful Pail of Flowers image by Faith at Designed2Delight!  I paired up my cards with papers from Crafty Individual's Springtime Book 3 Background Papers collection.  My *wings* are the Martha Stewart Butterfly punches which are punched out of some gorgeous pearlized cardstock.  I colored my image with Copic markers.  My sentiment is from Printworks and is layered on SU! oval punches.
For this card I used some wide ribbon adorned with gems for a totally different feel!

Rubber Cafe Weekly Challenge

This week's challenge at The Rubber Cafe is Christmas in July.    You know how hard it is to make wintery things when the temps in our area have been hovering near 90*?  This was truly a challenge!!

I decided that there would be no red and green for I decided to make some whimsical ornaments since I wanted to play with my You're So Fine Glitter and some of the Scrap Happy Sheer Glue.

I took some white wood and wire ornaments I picked up a while ago and stamped Solid Leaf Pattern images that I *inked* up with Scrap Happy Sheer Glue randomly on them.  Next I covered the swirls with the You're So Fine Glitter in Silver Medal and Purple Dress.  Let the glitter and glue dry and then you can brush off any excess glitter clinging to the surface.  You are left with a fun glittery brocade design.

For my star and banner images, I stamped unages from the Ornamental Holiday set with black stazon ink on acetate.  I ran my acetate through my Xyron sticker machine, burnished the glue to the acetate and then applied my glitters.

The images were fussy cut and then applied with foam dots for dimension.

I hope you are enjoying the winter inspiration we're sharing this week!
Be sure to check out The Rubber Cafe Blog for all of the challenge details and PRIZE details!

Prickley Pear Seasons Set

Today I'm sharing a set of cards I made with two clear images from the Prickley Pear Clearly Beautiful Birdcage set.

For each of the cards I used a clean and simple design.  The cards are SU!'s Sahara Sand and Early Espresso Cardstocks.  I used Cuttlebug's Grace's Frame Embossing Folder on each card.

I stamped the tree image with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink.  Then I added special touches for each season:
~Summer: I used the tiny swirl stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink for my leaves and grass
~Fall:  I used the tiny swirl stamp inked in Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade
~Winter: I used my Sakura Quickie Glue Pen and some Art Institute Crystal Glitter for my snow
~Spring: I used the tiny swirl stamp in Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride inks to make my blossoming tree

A beautiful new set of cards to celebrate holidays of any season!

CropStop Challenge ~ Rosettes!

Happy Thursday to you!  It's time for a new CropStop challenge....and this week's challenge is Rosettes!  Be sure you check out the CropStop blog for all of the challenge details and inspiration from the design team!

I have a special coupon code for my blog followers:

THANKS! Coupon Code CTMP-01 saves my readers 10%!
I bought this beautiful May Arts Sheer Ruffle Ribbon...and when I thought about making a rosette, what could I do but make a froofy one?!   To make the base for my flower, I punched a 1 1/4 inch circle out of cardstock and another out of Scor Tape.  I attached them together so I had a sticky circle base.  I started on the outer edge and continuously wrapped and crimped my ribbon, ruffling it as desired to form my rosette.  I continued to spiral inward, ending in the center.  I covered my rosette center with a vintage button.

I framed my rosette with a vintage buckle that is shaped like a flower.  The papers I used are from BasicGrey's Sweet Threads Collection.  A touch of distressing and faux stitching finished my design.

Belle With Laundry

This image seemed appropriate for today's challenge....I've been quickly getting all my laundry/housework caught up a bit so I can spend Tuesday at CHA!  What a darling image from Belles 'n Whistles to depict an everyday occurence of our lives!

I colored Belle With Laundry with the Copics shown below:
I used designer paper from BasicGrey's Sweet Threads collection.  I kept the design simple since the image is so detailed and delicate.

I don't mind laundry....that is such a good feeling when everything is fresh and clean!  Now ironing...THAT is another story!!  Blech!!

Mom, You're So Fine!

Whoot!  I had fun with this week's challenge for The Rubber Cafe!  The challenge is to use Spellbinders...and that was no hardship!  I used the corners from the Fleur De Lis Accents set and paired it with a tag die from the Fancy Tags Two set.

Another favorite thing of mine is glitter...and I used the You're So Fine Diamond Clear Glitter on my creation.  I ran a 4 x 5.25 inch piece of white cardstock through the Xyron sticker machine and then covered it with glitter.  Next, I ran my panel through the Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing Folder...instant textured glitter cardstock!  This glitter comes in a huge jar at a great price...what's not to love?!

I used the Small Thistle Flower, but colored it as a clematis this time.  I love stamps that can do double duty!  I colored an additional flower green and cut it apart to use for my leaves.  Mom comes from the Give Momma Some Love set and is colored with Copic markers and accented with a Spica Glitter pen.

Be sure to join in the fun and share your Spellbinder creations with us!  Check out all of the challenge details and prize information on The Rubber Cafe's blog.

Prickley Pear Sketch ~ Home Tweet Home!

It's time for a new sketch challenge with Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!  This was a really fun sketch, which I flipped to fit my stamps.  Be sure to check out the sketch and prize information on the Prickley Pear Blog!  This is a relatively new challenge.....last month we had only a few players....and the prize was a clear set and coordinating you will want to check it out, your chances of winning are GREAT!  Good Luck!!

I used the Clearly Beautiful Birdcage Set for my card.  I used the coordinating Birdcage die for my center cage.  I spruced the center cage up by stamping it with black Stazon ink on silver metallic cardstock and added pearls and flowers.   Notice the bottom of each cage is fun that you can personalize each cage for a different look!  I love it!   This would be the perfect card for someone moving into a new home!

The birds are paper pieced using designer papers from Prima Marketing's Botanicals collection.

McMahon Five Designs Release Day!

This is one of TWO posts be sure to check out the other one for more inspiration!!  Enjoy!

I have a pair of cards for you today for the McMahon Five Designs release that are totally different in style!

My first card features an image from the McMahon Vintage collection called Sweet Summer Stroll.  I colored my image with Copic markers.  For a nice clean edge, I cut my image out and then layered it on white cardstock.

To make my card feel more vintage, I keep my color scheme soft.  I used the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder, some distressing, some prima flowers and a vintage button.  A touch of paper embroidery seemed to fit right in, dressed up with some beads.  I hand stitched the border of my card as well.

For my second card I used the Studio 313's Coco Loco set.  Again, I colored the image with Copic markers and colored my sky/sand with Distress Inks.  This card features real wood paper!  I used Birch Wood Paper as my card base and paired it with SU!'s embossing folder.  I was going for a beachy feel!  I used some fun paper scraps to embellish my card.

Be sure you stop by the McMahon Five blog to see the entire release and  what my teamies have been up to this week!

CropStop - Wet Challenge!

This is one of TWO posts be sure to check out the other post for more INSPIRATION!!

Today I'm posting for CropStop and there is a new CropStop Challenge for you!  This week's challenge is to use something WET on your cards.  Be sure to check out the CropStop blog for more challenge details and inspiration by the CropStop design team!

I have a special coupon code for my blog readers....enjoy!!

THANKS! Coupon Code CTMP-01 saves my readers 10%!

For my wet elements I used Ranger's Liquid Pearls in White Opal and some Tsukineko Fireworks in Lilac Posies.  I applied both directly to my Ranger Craft Mat and then mixed them together with my rubber brayer.

I applied the mixture to the inside of my Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing Folder and embossed a piece of light pink cardstock.  I inked the folder so the indented areas are covered with the wet mixture.  Wash your embossing folder with water.  Before wiping up my craft mat, I placed an A2 piece of white glossy cardstock face down in the brayered mixutre, covering the entire panel with the ink.  I used this panel for my Heartfelt Creations Daisy Patch Flowers and the pink panel in the center of the card.  Nothing wasted!!

When the embossed panel dried, I then hit the embossed areas with a black Stazon ink pad.  The embossed and pierced oval on my card is from the Cuttlebug Embossing Plus Folder called Elegant Ellipse.

This was a very fun challenge...and we hope you join us!

McMahon Five Surf and Sand Release!

Today is McMahon Five Designs' release....and it's a release full of summer sand and surf.  I'm sharing three cards featuring images from the Studio313 release.

I'm using the precolored Sunset Surfer for my card.  I made my surfer a silhouette by coloring him black with an ultrafine sharpie marker.  I paired my image up with WeR Memory Keepers' Sunsplashed designer paper.  My only embellishment is two surf boards that I cut out and tucked in to the *sand!*

My second card features images from the Beach Baby set.  I colored my images with Copic markers and then made a shaker card with sand for my sand castle and bucket.
My final card is using the line image of the surfer.  I printed the image on acetate and clear embossed it.  I applied some white/blue glitters to the back of the acetate to make my wave glittery looking.  I colored my surfer printed on white cardstock with Copic markers and then fussy cut him.  I popped him up on foam tape for a 3D effect.

Please be sure to pop by the McMahon Five blog and see what all the other design team members have been up to!!
