Fancy Evelopes With The Rubber Cafe

This week's challenge at The Rubber Cafe is to make a fancy envelope.  I am giving you a quick and easy way to dress up an envelope to coordinate with your card!

For my card I used the State Fair set, which is a fun new set that came out this summer!  I chose to go with the Peach Preserves image in the set and combine it with a sentiment from the Fruit Medley set for a homey country kitchen feel.   I was inspired by a piece of Crate Paper and colored my image with 3 Copic markers:  YR20, B0000 and G20.
I framed my image with the Beaded Circle die from Spellbinders.  I left cardstock in the die and added a touch of color with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Dried Marigold.

For my coordinating envelope, I simply embossed the left 1.5 inches with a coordinating Cuttlebug Embossing folder.  I like clean and simple envelopes, but this gives them a fun touch of class!

Be sure to pop by and enter for your chance to win this weeks prize and be inspired by all of the fancy envelopes the design team is sharing!

Also be sure you check out the Rubber Cafe's new website!  It's fun and easier to navigate!  Check out the gallery for lots of samples!

Vertie Makes A Wish!

This is my second post today....so scoll on down for more inspiration!

This cutie card is for the McMahon Five Designs Release this week and the set is by Studio 313 and is called Vertie Makes a Wish.

I chose to use the pre-colored version which I cut out with Spellbinders Circles and Scalloped Circles dies.
I layered my image on a panel punced with Martha Stewart's Doily Punch Around The Page punches.
Cardstocks, embossing folder, sentiment and oval punches are all by Stampin Up!
Ribbon is by May Arts.

Be sure to swing by the McMahon Five Designs Blog to see all of the different images being released this week!

Studio 313 Challenge Reminder - Card Duo!

I used the new Cute Cupcakes 2 set that was recently released.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and added some glitter to one to resemble sugar!  Vintage buttons and a touch of piercing finish my card.

I chose to go with another of my favorite Prickley Pear images for this card; Winter's Glow.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and accented the snow with Art Institute's Pearl Ultrafine Glitter.  I stamped the image on a Spellbinders Beaded Oval Die which I distressed with Tim Holtz's Tumbled Glass distress Ink.

The white texutred paper is a coated shimmer paper with a touch of texture.

Inky Antics Stamping Spaces Blog Hop

Welcome to the Inky “Stamping Spaces” Blog Hop! You’ve come from Tex's blog.

The blog hop starts today and ends on Sunday, August 28th at midnight Central time. Please visit each DT members’ blog to view their stamping space and leave a comment for each designer. The more you comment, the better your chances are to win. (Limit one comment per blog, please). One person’s name will be drawn at random to receive a fun Inky prize pack. The winner’s name will be announced on the Inky Antics blog next Monday, so remember to stop back and see if you’ve won.

Here is where I create my projects...

Boy...Jackie sure picked a dandy challenge this month!  It required some major shovelling!  It always feels so good to clear off the desk and put everything away....but when I'm on a roll....stuff piles up fast!!

I like to see all my coloring toys...so you will see Copic markers, PrismaColor Pencils, SU! markers, Spica Glitter Pens as well as Sharpies, Crayolas, Prima flowers and tons of ribbon in my space.  Most of my embellishments are in tic-tac storage, watchmakers tins, plastic drawers and one workshop organizer...but I've got plenty more stashed around here and there!

To my right are prima flowers, pearls, buttons, daubers, brads and all other sorts of things.  I have SU! rubbon rolls stored in a cd holder that I mounted to my wall.  A piece of ribbon holds my rolls nicely in place.
Color pencils are in a store display for markers.

To my left is my laptop and my hanging ribbon...I use a ring system on a freebie curtain rod I picked up.  Yes, I made all my own ribbon cards...but I do love seeing all of my ribbon at a glance and having it right at hand.

Below my ribbon I have a cd tower that I store unmounted stamps in...both in cd cases and some in packaging, it fits perfectly and they are close at hand.

My husband built me the stamp/paper cabinet you see next.  The top are many of my individual wood stamps stored in clear 8x10 picture frames.  Two drawers to a bin.  I have 12x12 paper storage below that in color families.

Next is a bookcase filled with more unmounted stamps in cd's as well as SU! sets and books.
Behind me is a halfwall I built with storage cubes from Target.  My husband backed them for me and this unit stores Spellbinders, ribbon, embroidery floss, extra embellishments, a dirty stamp bin, paper scraps etc.  On top I have a rotating ink pad holder that I kicked off my desk.  It's still handy, but for most of my coloring I use black ink and other coloring mediums.

The plastic organizers on the end hold my punches.  The file cabinet on the other end holds my cardstock, digital images, stamped images and specialty papers.

Behind my half wall I have a wall of white storage cubes that I purchased at Target.  They hold tons more supplies...stickers, dies, rub-ons, paints, glitter, embossing powders, envelopes, adhesives, ribbon...and more paper!

Here is a peek at my SU! punch storage...it was a wire rack for the mircrowave that I had never used....it's MUCH handier in this application!!
And finally...this is for my MOM and anyone else who really knows what my stamping space looks like....you aren't seeing my catch-all table....believe me, you don't want to!

Thanks for stopping by!  Your next stop will be Debbie's blog.

Cute and Girly Digital Tuesday Challenge

I have a cute Clean and Simple card for today's Digital Tuesday Challenge.  I went with the new Just Emma digital set from Fred, She Said Digital Designs.  If you are into dogs....there is also a version that has Emma and her puppy on the bench!

It is great to have images on hand that you can pop together quickly when you don't have an hour to sit and color an image!  This is a pre-colored image, and she comes with all different colored dresses!  This was perfect for a warm summer day heading into fall!

I used Spellbinders Labels Twenty to frame my Emma.  Designer papers are from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl Collection, and the punch is Martha Stewart's Bangle Chain Trim punch dressed up with a touch of seam binding.  I did a fun subtle border on my card by piercing my card from the back and then lightly sanding the bumps for a slightly textured white border.

Be sure to check out the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog to see all of the other cute and girly creations!  Play along for a chance to win some free goodies!!

Rubber Cafe` ~ Through A Window

This week's challenge at The Rubber Cafe is to make window cards, so I decided to make a winter shaker card.  Be sure you stop by the Rubber Cafe Blog to get all of the challenge details and prize information!

This card features the new Through A Window set.  I stamped the image twice, once on acetate with Stazon ink and then again on blue cardstock.  I stamped the blue cardstock with the new Pattern Royale background stamp to mimic wallpaper inside the house.

I stamped my snowman from a winter background stamp twice, once on very light blue paper and then once on white cardstock.  For my snow hill, I tore a piece of white cardstock.  I used ScrapHappy Sheer Glue to glitter both the snowman and the hill with Diamond You're So Fine Glitter.  The snowman is accented with Copic Markers and then was fussy cut.

I assembled my layers and created my shaker window, adding a bit of pearl glitter for snow.  This snow can either be another closer hill, or snow piling up on the window sill!

Finally, to finish off my window I made a curtain topper with the jar lid from the Large and Mini Jar sets.
I adjusted the length so it would fit my window and wrapped it behind my shaker box.  I slipped in some decorative pins for my curtain rod.

Be sure to stop by the Rubber Cafe blog all week long to be inspired by what the design team has seen through their windows!!

One Crazy Stamper - A Pen Friend

Today's card is for One Crazy Stamper using all of the following supplies:
Patterned Paper: KaiserCraft Bubblegum Hills
Belles 'n Whistles: A Pen Friend
Copic Markers
Copic Xpress-It Blending Cardstock
Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large and Small

I used the very fun sketch layout for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #117.

I used 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch square punches for my background.  The smaller squares are popped up on foam tape.  The white oval has been run through my Xyron machine and covered with You're So Fine Glitter.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut my main image since she was a tad taller than my white oval.
The butterflies are fussy cut from a fun sheet of glitter paper from the paper pack I listed above.  The blue squares on my background have glossy accents as well.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Stitched Pumpkin Take Two

Today's card is for Designed2Delight's Challenge...which is Anything Goes!

I chose to make another fall card because I wanted to color Faith's Stitched Pumpkin with Copics!  After coloring the image, I distressed it with Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain inks.  I layered my image on some gold mullberry paper and then used some SU! Linen Thread to stitche it to my card.  A vintage button and Thinking of You sentiment from Wordsworth finish my card.

Check out the challenge rules and be inspired by stopping by the D2D blog!

Happy As A Pig In A Puddle!

That saying just popped in my head when I saw this cutie image called Piggy Bath by Meljen from Whimsy Stamps, who is sponsoring our Digital Tuesday Challenge this week.  Our challenge this week is On The Farm.

My image is colored with Copic Markers and is distressed with Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.

I liked the contrast of the pink May Arts Satin Ribbon with the Early Espresso Cardstock and SU! embossing folder.

Be sure you check out the other design team inspiration, challenge details and prize info on the Digital Tuesday Challenge Blog!

Prickley Pear Sketch Challenge

This is one of THREE posts, so be sure to scroll and check them all out for more inspiration!
It's time for another Prickley Pear Sketch Challenge!  You can check out the sketch and the challenge details on the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Blog.

For my card, I chose to go with the Flourised Dancers image.  I stamped the image with black ink on white cardstock and then fussy cut the image and popped it up on foam tape for some added dimension.

I layered my dancers on the Spellbinders Beaded Ovals die which I embellished with little sparkle hear stickers from Stampendous!  The beaded oval is popped up with foam tape as well.

I used papers from the Hot Off The Press Classic Cardmaker's Creative Pack.   I used a variety of gems and buttons to embellish the Scrolls image in the style of the sketch.  This is an A7 (5x7inch) card.

We hope you join in the fun....there are always fabby prizes...so be sure to check out all the details!

The Art of Nature

This is one of THREE posts today....so be sure to check them all out for lots of inspiration!!
This card is for One Crazy Stamper, and it features a beautiful set by Our Craft Lounge called The Art of Nature.

I colored my image with the Copic Markers pictured below.  I added texture to the barnyard by applying some Copic Colorless Blender to a piece of terrycloth and then carefully touching the area I wanted to look distressed like a barnyard would be.

I used designer papers from Prima's Moulin Rouge collection, which is not an obvious choice for this image, but I like the variety of designs in the Prima Collections.  There are 48 pieces to a pack, and right now Lora has them on sale....the Reflections collection looks like it has some similar papers in it...check them all out before they are gone!!

iCopic Color Challenge ~ Blue and Orange

Rubber Cafe Challenge: Banners!

Today's post is for The Rubber Cafe, and the challenge this week was to make a banner.  Since a lovely cupcake banner was already shared, I decided to go with a holiday banner, and since the next holiday is Halloween, I went with that.  I had fun mixing both brand new and older images to make my project.

To make my banner shape, I used the largest die in the Spellbinders Grand Labels One and ran it through my new Spellbinders Grand Calibur.  What a sweet machine that is!!  I love that it attaches firmly to my table and easily rolls right through!  Then I cut the die cut to resemble a banner.  I like how the top of the banner resembles bat wings!

Next I cut my banner layers.  I love glitter, so I decided my mats would have a touch of bling!  I only needed a border of glitter, so I ran some Scrap Happy Glue around the edge of the panel and added some You're So Fine Purple Dress Glitter.

Images on this banner piece include:

~Bat Motel which is colored in alchohol markers, distressed and fussy cut.  I stamped the moon separately on cardstock, ran it through the xyron machine, glittered with You're So Fine Diamond Clear Glitter, colored with alchohol marker and fussy cut.  While hard to photograph, it's so cool in real life!
~You Need To Dust is stamped on each banner because you NEED spiderwebs on a Halloween project!

~Pattern Royale - Love how overstamping designer paper gives a totally different feel!
~Trick or Treat Clear Set - These cute trick-or-treaters come with a variety of masks and items to dress them up for their adventure.  The little girl's mask is glittered, though it may not appear so in the photo.

This was a fun one to make!  There is *glass* in the windows, and the spider web window is hanging open!
~Trick or Treat - Sentiment and the spiderweb in the window!
~You Shake My Bones - stamped in white behind the window *glass*
~Through A Window - I chose the window that resembled the ones in the Bat Motel image.

Here is a photo of the banner on a door.  We would love to see the banners you create!  Check out all of the challenge details on The Rubber Cafe's blog!

Stitched Pumpkin

The nights are starting to cool off...the pool water is cooling down and I guess it's time to start thinking fall!
Today's image is from Faith at Designed2Delight and is the progressive challenge freebie this week!
If you are not familiar with this challenge...check it out!  You play along each week and the following week you receive the freebie image for that week!  Fun!!

For this card, I printed out the Stitched Pumpkin image twice, once on white cardstock and once on an orange designer paper which I overstamped with the SU! Linen Background stamp for an added cloth feel.  I paper pieced the pumpkin and then doodled a fun frame in a similar style.

I raided my scrap drawers for designer paper on this card.  I added some Boshers from Bazzill and then twined some SU! Linen Thread around them for my card embellishment.

Happy Tuesday!  It was Anneke's turn to set the Digital Tuesday Challenge theme for this week, and her challenge is a theme, I love the sea...

Celebrating with One Crazy Stamper!

Today I'm sharing a card for One Crazy Stamper using a Whiff of Joy image called Fred Celebrating Elephant.  I colored the image with the Copic Markers shown below.
I framed Fred with Spellbinders Beaded Circle and Large Scalloped Circle Dies.  Designer papers are from Prima's Celebrate with Jack n Jill Collection.  A similar collection in the store would be Prima's Sweet Fairy collection.

Here is what we are celebrating....or soon will be:
