Whooo's Your Daddy?

Sorry, couldn't resist!  Recognize these little owl fellas?  I used them for my daughter's birthday décor...and most of them survived unscathed...so if you know me, they don't go in the trash...they live to see another use!
Got a request for some Father's Day cards....and with both of my owls the same size I need to do some fancy thinking!  I decided to scan my owl stamps and then print them at 5x7 size rather than the 8 x 10 size.  This turned out to be the perfect size ratio for the appearance of a daddy owl and a little munchkin sized owl!
Next dilemma...I had no tree stamps that would house my little owl family....but I did have some wood grained paper from My Mind's Eye's Stella and Rose Mable collection, so I trimmed 1 1/4 inch strips and then slightly tapered them for my tree trunk.
I still had the branch dilemma...but I remembered a perfect image that had a branch the size I needed.
I printed the image out and then fussy cut around it.  I then traced the branch with my pencil and then traced it with a pen.  I colored my branch and I had myself a plan!  I do not consider myself and artist...but I was happy I could make this card work out.
I love how just varying the colors and positions of the owls and branches you can get a totally different feel.

Thanks for stopping by!

What a great way to work with the owls and size them to suit, then work the variations to get four delightful cards Michelle!
