Spumoni Gift Set

Well...this is a peek at what I've been working on this week! Flaxychick issued this challenge over at Embellish-Online:
~Use 1 sheet of designer paper (you must use it all) to create anywhere from 4-12 projects. At least 2 items must be non-card projects and at least 2 items must be cards (any size).
~Stamp sets - Limit 2 sets or 1 set and 1 BG + you may add a sentiment not included in your choice of sets
~Designer paper - 1 sheet - use it all
~CS - any
~Ink - any
~Embellishments - any

In this grouping the *buttons* are actually punched circles of designer paper covered with a clear epoxy sticker by Making Memories that I've had laying around here for next to forever. I used my eyelet punch to punch 2 holes and tied some May Arts ribbon through them and viola...my faux button!! They look a lot like the Making Memories jumbo pebble brads which I used for flower centers on the other cards.

Some fun facts on these 4 cards include:
~The fact that to use up all of my scraps was a bit of a challenge due to the large circles I cut to alter the heart pocket. The leftovers were triangles which I punched my faux buttons out of. Then I layered them like a starflower on the butterfly card. Can't say I *like* it...but it is definately unique and allowed me to complete the challenge of using *all* of my sheet of paper!
~Then there is the woven card. I had these tiny strips to use up and had the hair-brianed idea to weave them! It actually looks really neat in real life...again...not your normal quick card....but it was fun to do for a change! Note the sticker on this card is clear epoxy and has the tiniest of the scraps under it....it looks like a fancy paperweight!

These are the two non-card projects in my set. The heart pocket will hold the card set. It is a Petal Folder from Paper Adventures that a friend picked up at an Outlet Sale. These sets are just simply too fun to make!! The little box is by Creative Imaginations...and has some faux stitching and distressing to dress it up some. The ribbon is tied around the magnetic box lid flap. My paper for this project was spumoni from the Two Scoops collection by Basic Grey.

WOW....that was a long post!!! I see I passed up 5000 hits today on my little blog about my stamping hobby (aka *addiction*) Thanks for the time you take to stop by....it means a lot to me!

Oh this is so nice! It's absolutely beautiful! Great job with the challenge. This is something I need to do so that I don't have so much scrap paper! Great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us!
