Faux Cloisonne ~ Beautiful Flowers!
This is the first time I've really taken a crack at this technique. It is so simple though, I will definately try this again! What is it you ask?! It is using glossy magazine pages to color your images! I knew I had this perfect piece of red satin from some ad that I had pulled out and put in my junk paper file!
If you know me, you know I have bins and bins of *stuff!* What is really funny is...like the Mickey Mouse paper I saved in my security envelope box (organized by color) which I used on my Mickey Mouse cards....I remember what I have in those bins! So I went digging and in less than a minute I had my red satin page! Hee Hee!
Ok, so back to the technique! I ran an anti-static pad over the page to remove oils and static. Then stamped this image from SU!, one of my all-time favorites, on the page three times with versamark ink and then covered it with gold detail embossing powder. Heat your powder, cut out and Ta-Dah! ....you're done!
The other challenge on this card was to use no other designer paper, so I just went with black and white. Martha Stewart punches, Stampendous stickers, gold ribbon and adhesive pearls finish off this card! This is truly a one and only...but you can bet I'll be keeping my eye peeled for some more magazine ads that work with this technique!
Somebody asked me recently if I ever stamp for fun anymore...and you bet I do! This weekend I made 25 cards for no other reason than the fun of the challenge!! It amazes me what can be made with paper, adhesive and a little bit of time!!
