Vintage Butterfly Box
The Rubber Cafe challenge this week is Anything But A Card. I decided to alter a little cardboard box that I picked up at a craft store so long ago it almost might be considered vintage itself!
I went with the Vintage Treasures set since it was perfect for the feel I was going for. I stamped the wording image on the lid of the box with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I love the phrase that I framed on the box with my gems and buttons: "Do you ever sit and dream?" How perfect is that...I added the butterfy and it's gem swirled trail.
The butterfly image is stamped with Black Stazon ink onto blue vellum and is fussy cut, attached by the body to the box.
My buttons are vintage..they are a very pearly grey color. I added the blue gems to bling them up and add another subtle touch of color to my project.
To finish the box, I tied some vintage seam binding around the corrugated cardboard bottom of the box.
This would be the perfect little box to tuck a Barnes and Noble and Starbucks gift card into....how's that for seed to sit and dream a bit?!
